I am diabetic and have to start with captipril. It is because of prevention of certain kidney dysfunction that can occur in diabetics. I’m 40 and I got diabetes when was 26. I take insulin twice a day; also take chrome supplements and banaba. Please tell me more about captipril, why it is necessary for me. I generally feel well, and control my blood sugar every day, and it never crosses the limit value.
Captopril is medication that is used for treatment of high blood pressure. It prevents kidney failure in diabetics. Captopril works by inhibiting an enzyme that causes constriction of blood vessels. As there are usually no symptoms of hypertension, you can not feel that you need to cure it. Diabetics are at risk of destruction of small blood vessels, so captopril is very useful additional medication for you.
