Hi,
I have a cousin at the age of 41 (almost 42) with cat's cry syndrome. Her speach (what there is) sounds a lot like Pebbles Flintstone, for lack of a better discription. She can, however, communicate with simple sign language. She has a severe seizure disorder, which has grown worse over the years (now stablized with meds) and also has heart problems. She has been in the care of her parents all of her life and is doted on highly by her other 6 brothers and sisters, which I believe has granted her such a long and happy life.
I am curious to know what the life expectancy of this type of person usually is.
according to genome gov "most individuals with cri du chat syndrome have a normal life expectancy."
