I had the worst pain ever in my life from my cervical laminectomy also. Do not do it, try everything else possible, you will never feel the same. My neck feels like it is on stilts and 40 pounds of weight on each shoulder 1 year after surgery, still in pain, can't OD on pain meds cause they won't give me any, and I am still in pain.

On 10/29/19 I had a cervical laminectomy posterior approach c4-c6 with the placement of two rods on two different levels screwed in to give stability to my neck. I have had two previous cervical surgeries one in 1/9/19 on c1-c2 with the placement of a divergent cage to stabilize c1 c2 discs that kept moving out of place. For me there is nothing more that can be done to my neck. However I wanted to comment on how this latest surgery was really more than I anticipated, and has been just horrible since. I find myself unable to sleep at night, weakness when I walk around for any length of time. My upper back has no sensation of feeling, where the surgery was done much discomfort and difficulty finding any comfort. I have noticed that the loss of feeling in my right arm and hand, my right leg cramping up and part of the left leg that was numb has subsided tremendously. I know this had to be done, but honestly I find myself depressed just starting to cry for no reason. very tired and very little interest in life. I am glad that nothing else can be done to my neck, because of all the surgeries I have had in my neck and lower back, not counting other types of surgeries, this has been by far the worse to recover from. I just try to do one day at a time, people do not understand how I feel, but I am glad it is over, but would never do this again. Good luck to anyone who undergoes this procedure.

I need information on L3 laminectomy removing neurofibroma. How long is operation? How long is hospital stay? How long is the recovery period? Will it affect my walking? Thanks!
