I was in a car accident yesterday. I was the passenger in the front, and we were going about 15 mph when my girlfriend hit the person infront. Airbags deployed and my seatbelt held me from hitting the bag. Straight away I felt a chest/rib pain. I got out in a lot of pain. Since yesterday, today has felt the same. It's right under my right chest, and when I breathe deep, I feel pain. If I sit for a long time it starts to hurt, and laying on my side at night is the only way to prevent the pain. I have no health insurance, so I am freaking out about what I should do. I like to think it can't be anything really bad, because we weren't going that fast...but like all accidents, it all happens fast and you forget how you felt or what happened. Please, if anyone has any knowledge on whether this feels/sounds like just bruising, or maybe internal bleeding or a fracture, please let me know! I would really appreciate that. I want to go see a doctor, but do I go straight to the hospital? Or shall I just go see a regular doctor? If I do, without health insurance, (I live in Florida) how much might that check up and x ray cost? Thank you if anyone can help!

I understand what your going through. If bills are an issue over you getting treatment don't let that get in the way. I know a nice case worker that will get all xrays, medical bills, physical therapy, and all that paid through your insurance. Even if you didnt have insurance she will he will guide you through the steps to take at no cost at all to you! If you stay in the michigan . My name is Michael. Have a blessed day.

I was in an accident a week ago. It was during a white out and I was on the expressway I slowed down to 40 and b4 i knew it there was a mess of cars everywhere. I tried to avoid them and swerved to the cement wall and stopped. Some guy hit me after I had already stopped. He hit me so hard all my airbags deployed. His car went half under mine. He pushed me into the car infront of me then we continued to get hit by more cars. Six to be exact. I thought I was fine and refused onsight medical attention. I was sore for a few days with a swollen ankle a few minor cuts and burns. Some bruising. Then i was starting to feel better but for the past few days I have been experiencing chest pain but it does not hurt when I breath just when i bend over, kneel down, pick something slightly heavy up, cough, and laugh. My brain also feels like it is being sqeezed and feels like its bleeding. It kinda feels like it has a catch in it and like its up against the side wall. This is experienced on my left side towards the back of my head. I dont know if my insurance will cover these medical costs if I go in since its been a week.

Are you still having these pains. I was involved in a car accident two years ago and the pain does not go away. I feel like I need to have my rib cage pushed back or something taken out. I am in the process of switching my dr b/c I feel that he's not listenting to me. I've tried everything under the sun and nothing helps at all. Hope you feel better.

I was the driver last Oct. 28, 2012 in a head on collision that totaled our car. I was CT scanned, X-rayed and had an MRI all of which doctors say look fine even though the MRI report states that due to having breast implants, they can't be certain of any abnormalities... Almost a year later, I'm still experiencing pain in center of my sternum, right breast and rib area; sometimes a burning sensation, and other times I feel bruised inside. I'm starting to wonder if the doctors are in cohoots with the insurance companies to give minimum treatment and when they cant help us after their "set" number of allowed visits, we are just left out to dry and referred on some where else. I've had some PT, ultrasonic wave treatments under my arm pit and shoulder area, but couldn't do my chest or breast area due to it being close to the heart. I've stretched, tried doing exercises at the gym and the last thing the Ortho doctor told me was go to a therapeutic massage therapist which by the way is $60 per visit. I've been a few times and I still hurt. Could it be nerve damage? Any suggestions? So frustrated and I don't want to settle with the insurance company as long as I'm still having issues...

2 weeks ago my friend was driving me home when she ran a red light. I was in the back right side and a black truck hit right where I was. I wasn't wearing a seat belt and I don't believe there were airbags. My right side right below my ribs hurts when I lay down or try to get up, twist or even lean. I've had 2 urine tests they were fine and my cat scan came back fine as well. Plz help I don't know what to really do at this point

I was in a collision a month ago, I also have have the same pain in my lower left rib cage. Iam currently in physo, they have been great in explaining everything. You have layers of muscle between each rib, in an accident ( if nothing has impacted your rib cage) the muscle between them get damaged, as your body projects forward your ribs pinch and crush the muscle (like an accordian" which can cause freying or tearing and in return can cause this horrible pain. Physo is a great course of action, i my self dont take pain meds as they are to hard on my stomach but physo and special exercises tailored to your injuries will help heal and re train the muscle you have damaged. Good luck and feel better.

Hi everyone, I was involved in a serious car crash 6 days ago. Someone came out of a side road and hit the left side of my car as I was driving and I lost control and hit a solid wall. My airbag deployed, I had my seatbelt on and according to emergency room doctors, I've only suffered musculoskeletal injuries. I can say that I'm almost back to my old self with now minimal chest pain even though the pain was EXCRUCIATING when it first happened. I was given paracetamol at the emergency ward once and haven't taken anything else in terms of painkillers. Here's what I've done: Day before accident, I had dinner at around 7:30 pm. Next day, I went to the gym after 9am to do a fasted cardio workout on a Technogym crosstrainer. I had two droppers full of liquid marine phytoplankton immediately after my workout. I was still in a fasted state when the accident happened and was extremely clear-headed (shocked, under enormous stress but felt strong mentally and emotionally - no tears). I was in the hospital until 6:30pm. At around 2:30 or 3pm, I took another two droppers of liquid marine phytoplankton and half a ham sandwich with corn relish from the hospital and less than half a cup of apple juice (didn't drink all because I didn't like the artificial flavour). I also got dinner at around 5pm. Quiche with vegetables and mashed potato plus vanilla custard. I came home and was already feeling semi normal. My husband ordered chinese food delivery on the phone for yet another dinner lol. I've also applied pure french lavender oil on my chest the day after the accident. On the second night, I had 2x300ml mugs of soup/"bone broth" (which I made the day before the accident with a large bunch of watercress added). The bones were just 1 chicken frame or carcass, about 20 to 30 chicken feet (I didn't count exactly). I added a tablespoon of DOM Bénédictine into each mug of soup (post-partum chinese practice for regaining strength - ? - I'm no alcoholic, I promise lol). I felt remarkable the next day, with all the pain almost non-existent. Three or four nights in a row, I've also had between one to two glasses of Japanese plum wine in the evenings and ate the plum. Unfortunately the night before last, I dropped a piece of ice cube (for the plum wine!) at the kitchen sink and reflex caused me to try to catch it and I hurt my chest all over again. I decided to fast for almost 20 hours, continued to take phytoplankton everyday and applied the lavender oil again on my chest last night. The pain is now minimal again and I still don't need any painkillers. I'm not sure what in the above that I've done which helped me. I hope if anyone is in pain will find a way to get relief, otherwise hope you can try one or all of the above to see if it helps (fasting, lavender oil, phytoplankton, bone broth) - all of which I believe help with healing and cell and collagen regeneration/rejuvenation.
