Hi There,

About 3 years ago I had an injury that resulted in a chondral defect in the anterolateral portion of the weight bearing area of the lateral femoral condyle. Following this I had chondroplasty and micro fracture performed to the base of the defect. The size of the chondral defect was 10 x 8 mm. However, ever since I have knee pain and irritation. I've seen 3 different surgeons for opinions and had numerous MRIs and X-rays. Nothing shows up and everything looks fine on the imagery.

However, this is not reflected in how my knee is functioning in reality. If I go for a jog, it flares up. If I go cycling, it flares up. If I crouch, go up to many stairs or if I'm on my knees for any reason, it flares up.

It is more irritation than pain, as if something is knotted in my knee.  Also, it feels like something inside my knee is catching when I bend it. I often get days when it is clicking whenever I bend it.

Most recently I have see yet another surgeon who gave me about 5 minutes in with him. He prescribed me 6 weeks of intense physio. Again. After 4 weeks my quads are built up, I'm stronger but I still have the irritation and pain.

Has anyone else had this issue? I just don't know what to tell these doctors anymore to make them listen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. After 3 years of pain and no solutions I don't have anywhere else to turn. Thanks
