Hi Everyone,
Just reading all of this, and had symptoms similar to the original post.....the problem may be malabsorption. Your bowels aren't absorbing all of the nutrients from the food you eat. Start taking a Probiotic, as a lot of you have taken anti-biotics for numerous things, which in turn kills the "good bacteria" in your intestines, making it work harder and not as efficiently. Also, last but not least, look into allergies to Gluten. Those who have it have very similar symptoms as people with IBS. That can be easily fixed with your diet. All of these things I mentioned have been learned from a Hollistic Dr, as I went the "traditional" route and all of the docs not only didn't find out what was going on, but just put "band-aids" on the problem, giving me meds here and there trying to stop the loose stool. Find out what is CAUSING the loose stool, and your body will thank you for it! XD Also remember, the gut is the "brain" of your body, and underlying health problems not only effect your gut and gut health, but also may be caused by the gut not being 100%. Hope some of this info helps!
I took Accutane twice as a teenager and have GI issues. Not as severe, but similar to those in this post. I started using probiotics for the first time a month ago (Florastor) and the problems are gone. (Except one attack of D in the middle of the night.) I was tested for everything (except no colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy) and everything came back normal.

Hi everyone. I encourage all of you (and future readers) to take a good parasite cleanse. Please rad this page: http://hsu.com/parasite/modern.epidemic.htm It states
"If you were tested by a doctor for parasites, chances are the results would come back negative. Does this mean you do not have parasites? Unfortunately, medical testing procedures only catch about 20% of the actual cases of parasites. Over a 1,000 species of parasites can live in your body and tests are available for approximately 40 to 50 types. This means, doctors are only testing for about 5% of the parasites and missing 80% of those. This brings the clinically found parasites down to 1%. Now, if I had a 1% chance of winning in the stock market, I don’t think I would invest. Only 1% of parasites are ever clinically found.
I went through a medical test that cost me $400, was sent to a "top lab" for the detection of parasites, and still was diagnosed as negative (yet after a few cleanses I have been flushing infections, toxins and parasites from my body daily.) So, although there is a chance the lab test will catch the infection, the likelihood is that it won't. (the major problem is that the parasites must not only be on the "list" the lab looks for, but also must be laying eggs when the samples are taken.)"
I had perfect health until the age of 29. Everything went downhill from there. Everything that could happen - did. I suffered from exhaustion for caring for my 2 parents and a homeless friend who was later killed in a car accident) and mold toxicity. I was bedridden for 2 years. Previously, I had been fired from my long-term job because I sued them for back wages (they refused to pay me for my work). Later on, poor health left me unable to work. I moved, hoping for the best, then moved again and again and again and again ... further degrading my weak health. I chased jobs around the country via Greyhound and ride shares, back and forth from CA to FL, from TX to NJ. Nothing seemed to work out for me. In Oct. 2010, I withdrew my last $200 and went to Mexico ... figuring if I was going to be homeless - I might as well be warm. In Mexico, a new 'friend' stole all my money, my notebook computer, my shoes and a bunch of other things while I slept.
Due to not having any funds, I lived on fruit and tap water (with lemon oil added to it) until I was able to find someone with a kind heart, who would give me a chance. When I left Mexico, I had the soft stools with endless fatigue, malnourishment and sever itchiness all over etc. Back in CA, I drank lemon water and ate soy yogurt which helped and is still helping. I had been blessed with a bathtub where I was staying and took a hot bath with Clove (known to kill parasites), Lavender, Lemon and ginger aromatherapy oils everyday for as long as I could (anywhere from an hour - 2 hours). This is what really helped me. This detoxed my body. I had been challenged with sever - wake-up-at-every-hour itchiness all over my body. The bathes healed my skin and the itch that was felt under the skin. I woke one morning to find about 7 small red blisters over and to the right of my liver. They were flat but raised a tiny bit. They were a little tender. They were not over a nerve so I ruled out shingles because of that and due to lack of pain. They itched more than felt tender. They finally scabbed and fell off in 4 days.
I had to move again and ended up in south TN on a farm where we drank well-water. This well always ended up contaminated when it rained. There were only about 5 of us on the farm and at least 2 other people fell ill. I moved again and again and again ... and again. My body flared up while trying to adjust my diet and eat more raw. I was eating raw spinach, chard, bell peppers and tomatoes daily. Again, I have the soft stools that cause me to run for the bathroom, first thing in the morning. Sometimes I need to go 3 more times until I'm empty. I don't see any worms - though I see lots of undigested food. They often appear greenish-medium brown or yellowish-brown.
I have been a vegetarian for 25 years and a vegan for 12. I never drank, smoked (anything), never touched drugs (not even prescription meds) , no soda, coffee, no candy. You'd think I'd be the picture of health but I feel more than half-dead. I have no energy to do anything other than type this now, I'm allergic to everything, I don't feel hunger. I'm sure I have a bunch of parasites. Many parasites can live in the body in a 'resting' state until the body is weakened. My immune system barely functions from being overloaded and traumatized. Please take a reputable parasite cleanse first before taking prescription meds. Good luck! For the record, I'm female 37 years. Having problems with anemia since getting sick in Mexico, gas, gas and more gas ... constantly, feelings of movement on and in my body, which causes me to scratch, feelings of rage (I read this has a connection with the liver - which broke out in that red rash with blisters), nervousness, tension, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing (feeling like I can never breathe deeply enough) ...
it could be liver , leaky gut, low stomach acid, what is your b12, vit D, zinc, iron levels? do you get bloating and reflux as well as the gas? do you have any other symptoms goin on in your body that you may think may be related or unrelated just to give the whole picture? are you on any supplements?
Hi, my vites and minerals should be good but I always feel low - I know I'm not absorbing everything. I have "Raw Meal" everyday WITH a meal. I have another 'raw food' green powder I'm going to start tomorrow to see if I feel a difference. I eat only organic, high nutrient-rich content foods like lentils with spinach etc The bread I eat is sprouted, high nutrient. This started very suddenly on both occassions so I'm pretty certain it is parasite-related. My iron level feels low despite getting enough iron each day (nearly 100% daily from food and whole food sources) ... this points to worms. I don't have insurance so its a matter of trial and error. I do not get reflux, bloating from gas yes. I've been drinking lemon-water wth cayeene pepper to clense while waiting to get a parasite cleanse. Thanks.
i would suggest knowing the levels of vitmins as it may be a case of not absorbing the vitamins and minerals, if you have a diet high in grains, nuts and legumes they are high in phytates which bind to minerals suh as mag, iron, zinc, calcium. If you feel like it is parasites try clove, wormwood and black walnut hull. Where do you get ur b12 from? b12 def can happen in vegans
As gross as it sounds put ur poo on tray to have a really good look at it, the eggs may lurk in there
It would be great to know my vite levels ... I have often wondered what my levels could be but those tests cost money I don't have. I plan on buying a good parasite cleanse when I am able. I get 100% vit B12 in Raw Meal (by Garden Of Life). I checked some stool and did see what looked like a white worm about 1/4 long. The stool was very fiberous ... meaning thead-like probably from my sprouted bread or the whole food powder. What do the eggs look like? I saw maybe 3 or 4 small white round thiings but I could not tell what they were nor could I get a really good look at them.
