Hi everyone, I recommend reading some of Ray Peat's work. If the symptoms are leaky gut and ibs, it could be worthwhile eating a raw carrot to suppress endotoxin in the gut. Have you seen how carrots don't go moldy inside when they go off? It's because they contain an antibiotic that can neutralize toxicity in the digestive tract

I am. 60 and never had any problems. Used to drink Cokes (not diet) all day long, spicy foods, pickled foods, junk foods etc. Never had heartburn or any irregularities . Classic cast iron stomach. Then one day all of a sudden had clear diareah that was so acidic it burned my butt cheeks. Since then for the past few months have had gas, poorly formed stools and urgency. Figured it was time to give the gut a rest and let things heal. Aside from bananas and live culture yougurt, one thing that really helps is drinking a Sprite every day. I know that extra sugar in the lower gut sounds anti-intuitive, but it seems to slow down the large intestine. Tried Powerade to replace electrolytes, but made it worse. Eating a slightly better diet lately and a Sprite a day has helped

SIBO SIBO SIBO SIBO. Look it up guys, it's at the root of IBS for a lot of people who notice symptoms after a bout of food poisoning. It's caused by reduced motility and the bacteria can contribute to elevated stress levels (which in turn helps slow motility, it's a cycle). A course or two of specialized abtibiotics (Rifaxamin) and a pro-kinetic and you may very well start feeling better again. I suffered for two years before getting help, don't let yourself suffer. Look up Dr. Pimentel and his research on gut dysbiosis and IBS. And feel better! It's not in your head, do not suffer. Find a doctor who doesn't dismiss your symptoms and talk to them about SIBO.

I have this also, over the last 5 years. And it's the diet. I am also a o blood type and believe we all have restrictions on what our body can handle. If I follow the diet I'm fine! Some people have super sensitive systems! And all the c**p they add to the foods on our shelf only make matters worse.

Do you take nuts...try to avoid them for sometime. I was facing similar problem . I take honey+probiotic yogurt and cinnamon powder mix together, and there is some relief.

I completley switched my whole diet, if you can include running into your daily routine.. sighn up for a gym. Do at least a mile a day at your own pace.. switch to a gluten free diet easier said than done.. alot of vegetables, next lactaid milk is delicious as well as almond milk! Do not have alot of dairy a little bit here and there is okay.. next eat a greek yogurt with good bacteria or. Probiotic.. include either apple cider vinegar into your diet.. you can drink this or use it on your salad! I promise after a month or two of doing this your body will start to function better.. my stools are firm now and not loose in the mornings unless I eat late at night. I have changed my life gluten was the key, vegetables, probiotic, and excerisize will change your life.. take care! Hope this helps

I got really sick in November 2016 with a very bad stomach virus lasting 3-4 weeks with mostly diarrhea (sometimes clear diarrhea with mucus). Dec 1at the GI doctor prescribed xifaxan which made me feel awesome 1st day on it but caused bloating 3 days later and the diarrhea came back. The doctor told me to finish the xifaxan but I then started feeling very weak so he then told me to stop and then take a prolific (he didn't mention which one at the time so I assumed activists would be fine since my primary doctor recommended that).

Since the xifaxan treatment I've been getting the loose stools as described in this thread with a weird odor (also liquefying when flushing the toilet, but no more diarrhea). Not in any pain either just have these annoying loose stools.

Finally Dec 23 my GI doc told me about Align which I started taking and I finally got a real BM Dec 28.....but that was short-lived and I'm back to the loose stools each morning (which is the only time I have a BM).

Already had my colonoscopy (removed small polyp) and endoscopy (grade a reflux, small hernia, and gastritis).

About to send a THIRD stool sample in 2 months with very little hope. I am getting worried that when I eat my body is not absorbing all the nutrients. Also when I pass gas there is very little smell (if at all).

Everyone's saying "take probiotics" but I'm already taking align which no longer seems to help.

Any suggestions???? Thanks!!!

You might want to investigate the low FODMAPs diet, which was developed by a gastroenterologist and nutritionist in Australia. It has been tested in university-controlled clinical studies and is a legitimate and often-effective treatment for IBS. When she sticks to the diet, my wife has seen improvement in her IBS. It's not a cure, and it's somewhat restrictive, but it might help relieve your symptoms.

You sound like your on the right track! Research autoimmune paleo diet. She healed herself from ulcerative colitis and became a nutritional therapist. I also use doterra oils and had my low iron levels go from 9 - 35 in 2 months with doterra Terrazyme (enzymes to digest food and nutrients) and Thorne brand iron. Dessicated liver pills from Radiant life are very nutrient dense and will help with healing also! Diet is key though! Healing foods and cutting out grains and dairy.....not forever..just for awhile to heal.

Do you take the probiotics all the time? I am having real problems. I have gerd and had my gall bladder removed. They said it was a buildup of acid.
I tried what they said to do and take. Either makes me sick with the same only worse. If I drink coffee. I go right away. It's runny but if not I don't go and than it's a new problem. I have the same problems only knowone seems to of had the gall bladder removed to. Thanks for he info.
