Hi everyone.
I am an otherwise-healthy 40-year old male. I have been experiencing low-grade pain/tightness on the right side of the front of my neck for two months now. Occasionally radiates down into my clavicle/chest or up into my ear.
All tests (three thorough physical exams by docs - 2 PCPs and an ENT, ultrasound, CT scan, bloodwork) have come back normal - no concerns about lymph nodes or masses or lesions.
Two potential leads on how this started:
1. In mid-June (before this started) I struggled through a long, nasty virus (cough, sore throat, fatigue).
2. I'm a marathon runner. Also around that same time, I ramped up my running mileage from 70 miles per week (mostly on treadmill) to 90 miles per week (mostly outdoors). Some have speculated that the increased running somehow tweaked something in my neck? Doesn't feel like a muscle issue...
Any ideas??? I welcome your input!
