This has been happening to me on and off for many years. I have been to many drs and none seem to know. I also have suffered from cysts, endometriosis, and fibroids. I believe the clear fluid is caused by a popped cyst. If i am correct there would be no treatment and the best suggestion would b to wear pads. Also being that this is happening to so many of us it is safe to say it is normal and nothing to worry about. As for anyone who commented about odor or if you are experiencing pain u should see ur dr.

I am 55, haven't had a period for four years, and now I'm in day 9 of a heavy flow period with only clear fluid that is VERY slightly tinged pinky-brown. I am off to the doctor today. I am experience a complete period in terms of symptoms though. When it started a week ago, I thought I must have gotten some water trapped inside me from the shower, it didn't even tinge slightly until day 4. It doesn't have much of a smell, but it makes a mess if not stoppered, padded and showered off twice a day. I would love some feed back on this one!

Hi ladies! While I can't give an answer as to the cause of this watery mess of an issue, I can say that I've stumbled across a remedy that works for me 100% of the time. DRINK WATER. LOTS of water. For example, I wake up and drink 2-3 eight ounce glasses of water. Then I drink one eight ounce glass of water every hour. It's a lot of water, and honestly, I can't be bothered to do it every month. I mean, the peeing alone...
At any rate, the watery fluid thickens after a few hours to an egg white consistency, that's much easier to cope with. Oh, this method also thickens up my period, so that I can use regular pads and tampons instead of the ultra, super, mega, intergalactic ones I have to use otherwise. It's okay to stop the water a few hours before bed so you're not waking up at all hours of the night to pee. Lastly, too much water can be dangerous, so make sure you know the maximum amount of water you should be taking in and never exceed it. Let us know if this method works for you.

I’m 44, have 2 children, not sexually active for several months. I use the cup too and have for at least a decade. My periods have always been very regular, last 3 days and done. Couple months ago I got my period, and was startled to see at least 1/3 of cup filled with clear fluid and very dark brown blood on bottom. It was like oil and water, they didn’t mix. This went on for 4 days. Then gone. I had noticed more vaginal dryness than usual directly prior to my period. Have found nothing online except this site that describes what happened. I’m one of those people that googles symptoms, thinks I have cancer, and rushes to the doctor..so I’ve really tried to refrain from getting too worried. But I still worry! :(

It’s not pee trapped in my tampon, it’s gushing out of my vagina! I’m 37 with severe endometriosis, adenomyosis and I suffer with ovarian cysts. I’ve seen cysts mentioned a few times so maybe that’s the common factor? My consultant also thinks I may be perimenopausal, although I’ve seen comments on here from very young ladies so maybe that’s nothing to do with it. It’s been happening since I had a laparoscopy last year. I’m baffled and so is my consultant!

^hah my thoughts exactly. Why until age 33 had I not experienced this. Mine comes with lots of bleeding but it continues to feel like my water is breaking, every couple hours for last 4 days. doctors told me to double up on pills to ease the bleeding but it’s not really helping for more than a few hours before it comes back. What I do think could be the case since my doctors confirmed is that I could be backed up” and then the flushing itself out could make sense, including lots and lots of clotting way beyond normal amounts. My doctors have me skipping my period by continuing to new pill pack and not taking sugar pills, in order to manage the pain/bleeding that having fibroids has caused. After 8 months of skipping, it appears my body is now accustomed to the level of hormones and is determined to let the period flood gates come no matter what I’m doing pill wise. and bringing some extra liquid along I’ve ruined about 10 pairs of pants in the last 5 days. Thanks flo. On this note, anyone have recs for how to manage fibroids aside from surgery? The location of mine mean they are not amenable to the standard procedure and could cause many complications.

I’m 22 I have the exact same thing. I’m not on the pill and it’s been like this since I can remember. I never realized that it wasn’t something everyone had until talking to my sister who told me that it was not normal. Did you ever happen to find out what it was or if something was wrong?

I came hoping someone had an answer! Crazy no one knows what causes this. I regularly get ovarian cysts that usually take care of themselves but unsure if that’s related. I’ll have two days of heavy heavy bleeding and then this watery fluid that soaks my tampons very quickly. I am so confused but glad it isn’t just me!

Me too.prib about 3 periods. Have an 18mnth old. Periods were extremely heavy once they came back after birth. Say 5 months. Not 3 months in a row though. Quite sporadic. However I woke today really really bloated. So much so none of my clothes fitted. Then all this leakage, and belly now "flat"

I have this happen too. It only happens when I wear tampons. A few days ago, I thought I was starting my period, so I put a tampon in overnight (thinking I would start in the middle of the night). The next morning I blew my nose and this liquid leaked out! I took the tampon out and there was no blood. I hadn't even started yet. The liquid has no smell and is clear. I've had this happen every time I where tampons. Well, I didn't actually get my period until 3 days later. I had no more "leaking" after I removed the tampon and being I wasn't even on my period yet, I am positive it's the tampons. I saw at the beginning of this thread a doctor answered us on what it "could" be. They said something about a sensitivity on your cervix can cause this? I can't remember the name but it's written in the dr's answer. I have a paragard iud. Never had cysts or anything. I did have a leep years ago for abnormal cells (level 2). My periods are heavier because of the iud but normal. I always get them on time. Anyways, I hope this helps someone. It's definitely the tampons for me at least.

I'm having the exact same issue.i used to be on nuva ring quit in August 2017. So birth control free since Sept 2017. Then Feb 2018 had a late period almost 2 weeks late thought I was prego negative. Got my period and it was watery every since that late period I've been watery so mad this morning woke up soaked panty liner tampon want when full panty liner just soaked with clear fluid so it can't be birth control as I've been off for 9mnth and had normal non watery period before that late 1.

I don’t wear tampons so this theory may not be true to all.
