Hello, folks. I did my routine blood tests last week. I was found high LDL cholesterol. My doctor explained me which risks were related to this. He says I must do something with it. He recommended me taking clofibrate. I would like to know something more about this drug in LDL cholesterol therapy. Thanks.
Hello. Clofibrate is used in treatment of high cholesterol. However, I know it is especially good in lowering high VLDL cholesterol. He is also good in lowering triglycerides. I am not sure about LDL cholesterol. It is also recommended for certain congenital dyslipoproteinemias. This drug can show side effects, so one has to be careful. You should talk to your doctor more thoroughly about this drug. I hope I’ve helped a little. Good luck!
