I'm a 19 year old male with the same problem as most who've posted, in that my hands change from being purple from cold to red and hot with the veins clearly visible in the very slightest increase in temperature.
It's gotten worse this year and I find in social situations I become very self conscious of it.
I looked at the suggested Raynaud's Disease but the symptoms listed do not include lots of blood going into the hands making the hot, only the opposite with restricted blood flow.
I'm getting pretty sick of it so if anyone has any info it'd be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem, I get cold fingers while outside in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Even inside, while sitting at my desk my toes get really cold. When my fingers are cold, I can barely write or move my fingers. Mine don't swell or anything, but its damn irritating.

Weird. im 13 and have sort of the same problem. in room temperatures my hands and feet get extremely cold. sometimes my hands turn purple. i dont go numb or anything. i can still move my hands completely well, even though they are cold. i can't really feel the coldness in my hands. but when i touch another part of my like my arm or something i can feel the definite coldness. my hands feel like ice. im also a bit underweight. my grandma has problems with her hands as well, hers dont get cold they just hurt. nobody else in my family has hand problems as far as i know

I'm 22 and I have same problems with my cold hands and feet. It may not be as severe as most of you here but it does get annoying and brings a lot of insecurity to myself having cold hands all the time. In my case, my hands will follow with the temperature of area that I am in. If it's cold, then my hands immediately responds to the temperature and turns cold. And when the temperature is warm or hot, my hand turns very warm. I haven't taken any medications for it yet, hoping that I could resolve this without any mediciations but it hasn't changed or see any progression. I've cut back on caffeine, tried wearing loose clothing, and excerising but none has resolved my issue. I may have to go to a doctor and get some drugs or something to resolve this. I hate that I have cold hands, makes me very insecure and I hate shaking people's hand knowing that my hand is very cold!

Thank you for the information on the site. I just finished reading through that site and it's very informative! I think I'm going to try some new tactics to resolve this! :)

I'm 18 years old (female) and have similar problems with circulation. I know I have raynauds but on top of it all, I get severe chilblains which cover my fingers and toes. They are painful, itchy, uncomfortable and sometimes cause sleepless nights. I live in New Zealand and the winter here gets extremely cold. The 1st of june saw the first day of winter, today is the 3rd and I already have 5 chilblains. I desperately want to prevent them and I've tried it all - wearing gloves and slippers, avoiding quick temperature change, eating ginger and garlic, herbal tincures and all the rest. nothing seems to work. If anyone has any new suggestions, PLEASE HELP

I have a similar problem. I'm a 14 year old female. If I touch something cold or it's cold outside, my fingers, ears, lips, and sometimes my nose will get this itchy/prickly sensation and then swell up, turn bright red, and burn. They're hot to the touch and numb. My feet do the exact opposite, but they do it randomly, if I get cold, or after my fingers stop burning. They get so cold that they hurt and nothing I do warms them up. Depending on how cold the get, they'll turn different shades of blue. Both my hands and feet get really sweaty. My feet will usually hurt and stay cold between 15 minutes - an hour or two. My fingers stop burning in 5-10 minutes, but will stay swollen and numb for 30 minutes - an hour. Any help or suggestions as to what it is? I tried telling my parents but they always blow me off and say it's "normal".

I'm 15 and I have the same problem but it mainly affects my hands. For example, about a week ago I was in math class, simply writing, and my middle finger on both of my hands went pure white. I tried to get the blood flowing again by shaking my hand around, but it didn't help. If anything, it made it worse. The tips of my affected fingers went a misty purple - it looked something like frostbite. This has happened to me about a dozen times over the past two years, and my hands always recover.
Although it IS annoying. Sometimes when I'm dressing in the morning, my hands are so cold that I can't physically touch my arm or my head. What's really weird is that while my hands are unnaturally cold, my head is always really, really warm. People tell me it feels like I have a fever, but I don't feel unwell.
I've been told I'll grow out of it in time, and I really hope so!

Mine is almost similar . My hands and feet are almost red , cold , and clammy . This is terribly embarrassing and i have no idea what it is . they don't go numb , hurt , or itch though. If i am really hot or exercise it gets worse , but if i hold my hand above my head i notice it goes pale ? My legs and arms go blotchy too sometimes as well . I myself am usually cold and fatigue , maybe they're related ?

My mom says it's just bad circulation , but i have none of the other symptoms and i am a 16 year old girl , who is healthy in every other way .

Should i go to the doctor ? or is there nothing i can do ? I know the symptoms aren't that serious but it really effects me socially , i am always trying to hide them and a lot of people point it out to me .

oh and winter is the absolute worst , summer isn't as bad ..

I'm a 24 year old woman and for as long as I can remember I have had a similar problem. I used to joke with my siblings that I was cold-blooded because when I go into the cold my fingers and toes immediately begin going numb. My fingers will turn white and become nearly translucent if I do not have gloves, and even those do not often help much. It has taken 20-30 mins for my toes to thaw out after being outside in the cold... initially when I go inside I've poked them with something sharp or put them close to strong heat and haven't been able to feel anything. They do not become enflamed or swollen as often, but sometimes that does happen, typically in hot conditions. The other day my toes were numb just because of the way I was sitting at my desk, so I'm prone to think I have poor circulation. The worst is waking up at night when my entire arm is numb and I can't even roll over....
