Hi there, I have been a drinker for about 3 years now, and I'm only 20. I have been binge drinking almost every weekend 3-4 nights a week for the past 2. I would drink at night pretty much until I couldn't stay awake much longer. I always felt like I never had a drinking issue, because everyone around me was doing the same thing. My roomate would drink twice what I did and wake up for 8 am classes, I would feel hung over for the whole week. I just recently stopped drinking all together about a month ago and have been what I think is "sick". I have been very anxious/depressed for the past 3 weeks. I have had severe headaches I have been tense all the time and am never able to relax. I have no energy to do anything, I can rarely focus on an activity. I had to take an extended leave from my work until I get these symptoms under control. I am not sure if my sickness that I have been experiencing for about 4 weeks now is alcohol related or not, but its been a terrible couple of weeks.
splitsurf, it could be because of alcohol but it sounds like it could be anxiety based around being in school right now. I think the important thing to remember is that you should try to drink in moderation. Have you decided to give up alcohol altogether? I think that is a very good move for you since it sounds like you do not handle liquor well and that you could be making yourself sick. Let me know, okay?
