It took me probably 4 - 5 months to be completely healed with feeling better each month.

The leakage lasted around 8 weeks for me. I just kept a "Step 1 Clean" gauze sheet there and changed it multiple times a day. It is much softer than regular gauze. Also great to use when showering.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy in Dec. 2015. Since I have not been able to have a regular bowel movement unless I take 2 caps of Miralax every day. Then I usually go 2 to 3 times within 2 to 3 hours. My stools are very small in diameter and unusual shapes. Doc has no answer. Have been to a specialist in Boston for test. They say that is how it will be from now on. Been to ER 3 times.

I have also lived with hemms since the birth of my first son 97, I just used to manage with them am also on day 6 so painful every time I go to toilet for BM, and I seem to want to go several times a day then it's a long process to make sure the wounds r clean. I agree if someone had told me how bad this op is I wouldn't of had it done I just would of coped with what I had. I am hoping it will all be worth it in the end but I seriously can't see that happening I just wanna cry all the time

A Perineal Irrigation Bottle made cleaning so much easier for me. I ordered mine from Amazon for under $3. BM's will soon start becoming much less painful for you. I am now 9 months out and totally pain free. Have been for several months now. You will be soon too and wishing you had done this years ago.

How are you doing now? Are you happy you did the surgery?

Yes I had a hemmroidectomy 5 days ago and I am in horrible pain! The throbbing has stopped now that my Dr recommend taking 800mg of motron every 8 hours but the stinging and burning are horrible! It's hard to see but it looks as though something has split or some stitches have popped. But it's impossible to be sure I have my initial check up the day after tomorrow. The pain medication ran out yesterday taking the recommended dose every 4 to 6 hours. I get the feeling I should wait to panic until my Dr apt on Monday??

I had a "radical" hemorrhoidectomy for prolapsed hemorrhoids, 11/13/15. I had the usual painful recovery, but after about 8 months or so, my bowel movements have improved drastically. They are no longer loose and splatter, but well formed, soft, and nonpainful. Nor do I spend a long time on the toilet. Can this procedure do this? I am very grateful of the positive outcome. One other change, when I have to go, I have to go. No putting it off.

I used a colon/rectal surgeon......and 9 wks later I am not a happy camper
I have heard "give it time" so many times or hmmm, I don't know why that is happening or you feel like that...totally disgusted and I did what I thought was due diligence on checking out this doctor I have thought about another opinion but then I read that some people experienced further problems from that exam so I am screaming from the rooftop - don't have the surgery!!! My dr did a banding saying "you don't want hemorroid surgery, it is awful," but unfortunately the banding caused other problems and thus the nightmare began. Actually she couldn't exam me after banding because of pain (fissure was caused by swelling from banding) so I was put in as outpatient for EXAM and came out with hemorroid surgery. We have discussed her lack of communication to me as to what she was going to do. We have discussed that she did not communicate with me before putting me out for the exam. I certainly wouldn't have had surgery on Dec 19th before Christmas. I did feel like I needed her to examine me and see what happened with the banding. Trouble is I like her BUT not enough to refer her or stop screaming to whoever will listen to not have the surgery. And, I did post a complaint on the surgery centers website where she operates and is a partner. But, it doesn't matter, business is booming. She had 26 patients one afternoon when I was there. However I have seen my general doctor, my urologist since and both just nod their head and say it is a terrible surgery. Thanks a lot now. Although my urologist did say that he did rounds at the hospital in Nashville with an old colon rectal doctor and none of his patients ever had a problem. Hmmmm You can bet when I ever get thru this and if I ever have surgery for something again, I will make contact with their patients. (I have had several surgeries and this is the worse and no I did not ck out the doctors thru their patients but I will in the future)

I had H surgery too about 4 and half months ago, but still in pain after bowel movement, I have developed a huge skin tag back there which really makes the pain after bowels increase. I'm so frustrated and don't no what else to do. This is an embarrassing topic to even discuss with anyone.

I too had skin tags 4 months afterwards that were bothersome. My Dr was able to remove mine in his office. I did have stitches again but it didn't compare to the original surgery. I was fine after 4 days but able to be active as soon as I left his office.
