Nobody has mentioned that it could be a stomach ulcer. I have heard that they cause "hunger" pains. I have this right now and it is worse in the mornings. Thinking of going to the doctor.

I'm a 26 year old heathly male and I have the same symptoms. I have had them for months now and it is quite annoying. It is the same thing everyday....

I wake up every day at about 7:30 feeling extremely hungry. It actually feels like I am starving and lasts about 10-20 minutes. At times I feel like I will vomit. Once it subsides, I usually eat some breakfast, however, I can only get down a few bites before feeling full....which is even more annoying!

A few hours later, I get the same starving sensation and I know its time for lunch. Sometimes, if I can't decide what to eat, my stomach begins to feel even more nauesous causing vomitting at times. But once I get some food, again, I can only get down a few bites before feeling full. This has made eating very uncomfortable for me. In fact, I do not enjoy eating anymore!

I have been having bad hunger pains too, along with a 'carsick' feeling and headache... I just always seem to get hungry very quickly, even after eating I might still feel hungry and those pains and sickly nausea feeling really annoy me in class. Im only 16 by the way.

Im taking some kind of contraceptive pills called Diane 35 for easing my menstrual pains. I have been taking them for a month now, so maybe thats not the cause of it. For the duration of this hunger, i have gained weight instead of losing it.

Should I see a doctor about this? or is it normal for a teenager. I told my friend about it and she said that its normal for a growing teen. But is it? I only had it recently. And normally I could go for HOURS without feeling hungry at all.

Three nights ago I woke up out of a sound sleep with the most horrible pain in my upper abdomen, and was producing copious amounts of saliva as if I was going to vomit (I never did). Since then, the pain has been recurring, regardless of time of day or night, what I eat or when. Also, I've been feeling severe hunger pangs as if I haven't eaten for the last three days. This hunger pain will usually return about 5-15 minutes after I've eaten. I have been fatigued as well as having a slight headache.
I'm normally very active and eat healthy foods, with lots of fruits and veggies. I take a multi-vitamin once a day.
I went to my doctor yesterday; he seems to think that I may have reflux and has me taking Ranitidine. I brought up the possibility of some kind of intestinal parasite (such as tapeworm) but he pooh-poohed that idea immediately.
I would love any input!

Hello. I too have the same hunger pains, burning sensation, and extremely bloated stomache at ALL times.

Im talking 2-4 inches puffed outward, whether I ate or not, usually worse when I didnt eat for a long time like mornings.

My research strongly leads me to believe that we all have an infection caused by the bacteria known as H. Pylori Or Helicobacter Pylori.

Here's my logic:

The pains happened suddenly after I got a nasty food sickness. The craps, feeling terrible for 2 days, all that.

So 2 days later, I started having the worst burning/hunger feeling ever. It lasted a week an no change. Worsens when eating cold foods like ceral and milk.

So I went to the doctor and he perscribed a single antibiotic + acid pump supressor. After a week of it, the bloating was significantly less and the pain almost gone.

But he didn't perscribe me the proper treatment, which usually consists of a TRIPLE action meds. 2 Antibiotics + acid pump supressor and sometimes a biosmuth compound like Peptobismal.

Now had he perscribed this, the infection likely would have been erradicated, But since he didn't the pain slowly got worse over a few weeks until it's back where I started.

This leads me to believe the antibiotics and acid stoppers were working, and the infection almost killed, but not quite.

So I suggest you all to ask your doctor to test you for the BACTERIA H. PYLORI and if you're positive, get the proper triple action treatment.

Don't go to some id**t doctor who doesn't know what H pylori is, go to someone who will cure you. I learned my lesson. (Then again, Im in poland so that could explain it his lack of knowledge.)

Hope this helps, and feel good soon.

Nate.

P.S.

This is one of the most common infections in the world. Some estimate that 1 in 3 people have it, although some people have no adverse sides effects to it and does not produce any symptoms, and some have bad reactions like described here on this thread.

If it is an infection caused by H. Pylori, if left treated for long enough, it can lead to stomach ulcers. The reason being that H. Pylori is a very tricky bacterial, and is spiral shaped, and it twists itself into your upper and lower stomache lining like a screwdriver.

Then, it protects itself deep inside your stomaches natural mucous lining, so your stomach acid can't kill it.

That's why its so hard to get rid of.

For more information, this page will tell you a lot about H. Pylori.

My burning in my stomach started when I first got pregnant with my first child. It felt like a burning hunger, and it wouldn't go away, even after eating and I also extreme thirst through out the whole pregnancy. It all went away after my first pregnancy was over. The same thing again with my second pregnancy. My last pregnancy (third child) was the worst. My stomach started burning badly and there was a gnawing pain, and this time it was very intense through out my whole pregnancy along with the extreme thirst. It was all I could think about at the time, was the pain, and it was hard to describe. A false burning hunger that wouldn't go away after eating, then a gnawing pain. I had a camera scope done in my stomach while I was pregnant and everything came back normal, except slight hiatus hernia, which they say it is too small to cause this burning. I also went to a natural path and spend over a thousand dollars trying out different blends of natural medicine. He said he thought it was gastritis, but the natural medicine didn't help. I was also on a strick diet. No sugars no carbs, lots of protien, nothing helped. After the baby was born the burning still continued, although it is not as bad as it use to be. I have had several tests ran, and all of it came back negative, No h.pylori virus, no diabetes, ultra sound test came back normal, had a colonostomy, barrium swallow, ct scan of the abdomen, another stomach scope and one scope around the pancrius. Also a number of blood tests. All the test came back negative. One internalist Doctor said maybe it was the progesterin from my birth control causing it, so I went off the bc pill. I asked him how it could be progesterone, since I dind't take bc pills while I was pregnant, but he said the body produces more progesterone in pregnancy. I am off the pill and it still burns. I have tried prescription Zantac for a few months, another big chalky pill for bile back up, which none of it has helped, so it is not acids. I wonder why this all started with my pregnancies, and why it has continued after my last pregnancy. I was even considering going to the Mayo clinic to get more tests ran, but they told me to expect to spend a minimun of ten grand. Has anyone else experienced these types of symptoms????

I HAVE THE SAME THING!
a persistent, burning hunger pain in my upper stomach and sometimes almost in my oesophagus. have taken medication for acid reflux which did NOTHING, ruling out GERD/gastritis/anything acid-related. I thought it may have been diabetes as the hunger pains would make me very stressed out, similar to a diabetic hunger. Test negative, not diabetes. Have just started a course of meds for IBS, as pain is accompanied by LOTS of gas. It doesn't seem to matter how much I eat, it just comes back and makes me binge. I will let you know the results of the IBS medication.. also have a suspicion it may be to do with lactose intolerance, as it does sometimes go away, and the only thing that is common to when it has gone away is not having lactose. So i am avoiding all lactose, will let you know the results. I am a sixteen year old girl... anyone noticed how many of us are teenagers? it is SO FRUSTRATING that no one know how to get rid of it...

I have had hunger pain and also other symptoms of starvation for years while eating way more than normal. I finally figured out (through medical testing by an integratvie doctor) that I was deficient in carnitine (an amino acid), magnesium and biotin. The problem is gone. My suggestion is to find an integrative doctor or other practitioners that can run test that mainstream doctors do not do such as amino acid panels and tests for the presence of other nutrients. My body was literally starving for these things. Also, if you eat mainly processed foods you could be constantly hungry because your body cannot utilize these foods in the same way as whole foods. Good luck.

As you were recently diagnosed anemic, your stomach may be producing too little acid.

I am a 53 year old teacher. I had extremely painful hunger pains after skipping lunch during post planning. I found some crackers in my desk and ate those. They lessened the pain for a little while, but I have had the hunger pains now for 4 weeks with no relief. I had a general check up but nothing showed up. My husband is a physician and he doesn't know why I feel this way. About three weeks after the hunger pains began, I also had dizziness and nausea. That lasted about a day, then the muscle fatigue and total lack of energy. It even hurt to sit. The fatigue is better today, but the horrific feeling of hunger is still there. It does not matter what I eat, fruits, vegetable, meat, nothing makes it go away; not even ice water. I was terrified that I had a brain tumor b/c my sense of smell and taste are also much dampened. I do not want to live with this for 2 years.
