I have been struggling with the same thing. I was put on Oil of Oregano for having intestinal yeast over-growth and now my liver is messed up because I was on natural supplements and probiotics for so long (a year). The yeast is gone and the I nodiced the hunger was gone too until I started to put sugar back into my diet and cut down on my supplements (which I was told to do because they are hard on the liver). So I think it's the yeast coming back either that or I read it could be diabetes, celiacs (I'm gluten free so I don't know why this would be happening) , ulcers or a nutrition problem. Anyways if you want to know what helped me before when I didn't experience this for almost a year it was because I ate little to NO sugar and took oil or oregano (natural anti-biotic) try it I bet it will help. I even had to cut out on fruit for a while because that caused pain. But when I was on this diet I was doing so much better and now that I was told to start eating regularly again because I don't have the yeast...guess what folks? It's back. Not as bad as it used to be before treatment but still there or coming back. I think I'm gunna cut out sugar again for another year then it will probably be complete gone because that really seemed to help. UGH. Oil of Oregano is also good for ulcers as well.

Ok -- had all these symptoms here: bloating, burning hunger pains, stitches in stomach near navel, pain under breast bone -- you name it. Came on suddenly and had lasted 6 weeks, when I had endoscopy and CT scan that revealed nothing. Antacids seemed to help temporarily, but the symptoms wouldn't resolve despite no obvious cause. I was freaking out!!! Reading the panicked posts here, with no resolution, didn't help -- I was beginning to make my peace with the idea that I had a chronic condition I'd have to live with forever. I'm coming back to post to tell anyone who comes here: don't give up hope. I found an almost bizarrely mundane cause of my symptoms. You may have something in common with me.
My pain originated under my breast bone and then extended to other parts of my abdomen. I noticed when I went out of town, my symptoms resolved (I attributed that to taking Nexium) but that when I returned home, my symptoms returned. We had just moved, and I was sitting in a new chair. 3 nights ago, I was sitting in the chair and noticed that the pain, which had taken all sorts of strange forms in the intervening weeks, was back under my breast bone. I then realized that my position in this new chair was causing my rib cage to press very awkwardly on my abdomen just below my breastbone. A light bulb went off.
Years before, I had suffered from sciatic issues. The main feature of my sciatic problem (I didn't know it was a sciatic problem at the time) was that IT CHANGED. One day my calf would burn or itch, the next my hamstring would spasm. My ITB tightened against the side of my knee, causing ITB syndrome (as a result of the spasmed hamstring.) For YEARS, I had orthopedists diagnosing various mechanical problems in my leg that -- it turns out -- were merely symptoms of the real cause: a bulging disc that was putting pressure on my sciatic nerve and causing all sorts of frustrating and very real problems "downstream": referred pain, spasmed muscled, strange neural sensitivities to things like fabric on my skin that I'd never experienced, etc. etc. Once I realized the problem was in my spine (care of John Sarno's Mind Over Back Pain) I stretched, relaxed, minded my posture, etc, and beat the pain. I have been pain free now for years. If a twinge of pain reappears, I can relax my way out of it, and I make sure not to do certain aggravating behaviors (like sitting on a thick wallet in my back pocket, slumping over, etc.)
Well guess what: Google "abdominal nerve entrapment" and see what you find. It turns out that compressed nerves in the abdomen can cause very similar problems "downstream" in the digestive system, probably by throwing off the natural sequence of contractions that the body normally handles well on its own. In my case, this was caused by the easily fixable matter of changing the chair I was sitting in. (Thank heavens.) In many cases, according to what I've read, abdominal nerve entrapment can be caused by a variety of reasons -- hernias, scar tissue from surgeries, and probably all manner of other things like bad posture, injuries, poor ergonomics, maybe even bulging discs, etc. The main feature though of neurological-based issues (as opposed to mechanical) is that they change -- they come and go, they move, they get worse for seemingly no reason, then temporarily resolve for similarly mysterious reasons. If you have an ulcer -- the symptoms may change somewhat, but they probably won't manifest as completely different types of pain in completely different places. Pain from entrapped nerves will often manifest in very different ways. That's a giveaway.
So this is my message to all who read this and are despairing over an inability to find the cause of the symptoms many describe in this thread: if you are an otherwise healthy person who experiences relatively sudden onset of abdominal pain, especially the sort that changes for seemingly no reason, and your doctor cannot find an obvious mechanical or medical cause, consider possible neurological origins of your problems and discuss them with your doctor. Read up on entrapment of abdominal nerves. If your doctor won't listen or dismisses your symptoms as imagined, find a new doctor who will listen. And above all, take charge of your situation: stretch, exercise, eat well, sleep well, practice relaxation, do biofeedback, or even consider *reasonable* recommendations to free entrapped nerves surgically (if you know you have scar tissue from a previous surgery, etc.) as a last resort, of course. Play detective, as I did, if your pain presented itself in conjunction with some significant change in your lifestyle or habits. Study a diagram of abdominal nerves and see if you can't trace your symptoms to some previous injury or event "upstream." Be aware that disc problems can affect nerves that regulate the digestive system. But don't give up hope. Neurological-originating pain may be trickier to deal with than say pain from an ulcer, for which you can take antibiotics, or Celiac Disease (just eliminate gluten) but there are many options available for people who are committed to gaining the upper hand against even super-weird symptoms like unexplained, burning hunger pains, etc. etc. Good luck. I sincerely hope this helps some of you. I literally felt your pain!

I can relate to how debilitating this can be especially as no one seems to understand. This is first online forum I found where ppl experience the similar thing. Thanks to ALL of you who provided suggestions.
PhxRsng, I was diagnosed with a yeast overgrowth from a functional Dr after all this started. At the time I could not deal with side effects of yeast die off and just didn't believe it was my problem. It is comforting to hear you found relief from hunger with anti-yeast supps. And to woman who posted about oil of oregano I will try that too. I need relief--this is ruining the quality of my life and I am at my wits end!!
I will post if I find a solution that curbs the constant hunger and need to eat. I pray that we all find relief.

Thank you for your post. I will try oil of Oregano. I do not eat sugar and have been gluten free for months. I take a probiotic. I used to love apples but find they aggravate the hunger pain...so crazy. I find I need to eat animal protein to feel even remotely at ease but the effects last less and less. I was curious about what specific diet you were on?

On a Monday I took pain relief as I had pulled my back out during the weekend. I took 2 ibupofens and 2 voltarins over the span of 1 day.
The very next day I had a very sore stomach which I also mis- took as hunger pains, but the pain was still there after eating.
I have had these same symptoms for the last 4 days. But the pain is high up where my ribs meet. After seeing the doctor, she said to avoid those types of pills and to only use Paracetemol/Panadol. I have previously used Ibuprofen and Voltarin but have never experienced this type of discomfort. Why would I still have these pains when i took the pills over 4 days ago?????
