I had sighing after a 54 yr old surgery(hysterectomy)..Bad..So, then I blamed either the meds or me being wiped out..
It lasted a long time.(up to a yr) You do have to lay around after that..So, lack of exercise or healthy body could have cause it..
I only get it since that when I am really tired. --Stressed--for a short time.

hi I have had this problem since I was a teenager anyhow by the I didn't know the cause of it but eventualy I realized i is asociated with a gustric condition
they call it sigh syndrome. I have it and last time I was ready to die. but all the information points toward an anxiety problem. hmph. I think it clicks in and out, but when it clicks in, the likelihood of anxiety over it can make it work. All I care about in not having episodes.
I AM A 47YR OLD FEMALE, AND I AM A SMOKER OVER THE LAST MONTH I FEEL LIKE I AM FALLING APART I AM LIKE HUMPTY DUMPTY AND NEED TO BE PUT BACK TOGETHER AGAIN. I HAVE CHRONIC LOW BACK BACK PAIN MY L3,4,&5 ARE BULGING AND AN OLD FRACTURE ON L1. THAT BEING SAID I GOT DOWN AND COULDNT MOE, WENT TO DR HE GAVE MEDS, TOOK THE MEDS AS DIRECTED , THEN COUPLE DAYS LATER WENT THROUGH FEELING LIKE I COULDNT BREATH I HAVE TO SIGH TO BRREATH, WENT TO ER THE FOUND GROUND BREAING GLASS IN MY LUNGS, THEY TREATED THAT AND IT GOT BETTER, SO WENT TO NEUROSPINE AND HAD INJECTION, BACK FELT BETTER, COUPLE DAYS LATER MY STOMACH BEGAN TO SWELL AFTER 4 DAYS OF THIS WENT TO DR, ADMIT ME IN HOSP SD I HAD BLOOD CLOT IN SPLEEN WHICH MEANS HALF MY SPLEEN DIED AND NOT FUNV, THEY TREATED ME WITH PAIN MEDS AND ANTI AND SENT ME HOME, MY STOMACH IS STILL SWOLEN AND NOT GOING DOWN, IF THERE IS A MEDICAL EXPERT THAT CAN TELL ME WHAT IS GOING I WOULD APPREC, OH NOW I AM BACK TO THE SIGHING EVERY FEW MIN TO CATCH MY BREATH. WHAT DO I DO
HOW DO I GET RESPONSE TO MY SUBJECT I HAVE NEVER USED THIS SIGHT
I've been sighing a lot for about a month and today it has been all day. Now I've been crying just seeing that I'm not alone. I had a complete health work up including a stress test. The only thing wrong was that I had low potassium. I tried coconut water at one point and it seemed to help. Think I need to get some more.
Mine started in 2011. It comes and goes, though.. there are some days that I feel it but most of the time I am distracted doing other stuff and it goes away. Sometimes I feel I need to take a deep breath, I tense the shoulders and when I feel this gnaw in my chest then I exhale. Sometimes with a very LOUD sigh.
I discovered that this happened because I almost died in 2011 and I had a horrible post-traumatic period. There were other symptoms but this one was new and it scared me. I got treated for anxiety and it worked, then I realized that the sighing and the need for deep breath are a result of improper breathing (shallow breathing) which happens subconsciously when you are stressed. Then your lungs will tell you but you will be fine you will not die.
Although this symptom can get annoying, what makes it worse is the anxiety/paranoia. Otherwise some people dont pay attention to it. But it gets better. Depression also has to do with it.
