Omg!!!!! No joke this is literally the same as me! I used to be so confident and so outgoing and literally loved getting ready too and now have no confidence! I'm in second year at uni and could count the amount of times I've been out on a night out on my hand it's not normal! I have such an asymmetrical face too, and always was called pretty during sixth form! Literally crazy I found this post couldn't agree more have the same issues! Exactly the same! Friends are so bored of me getting sad and self conscious and wanting to go home when I very rarely do go out and no one understands that I just hate myself and how I look

Most people aren't gonna like make fun of you; most people are not mean; in school, maybe it seemed like you thought most people are mean but that's because in school more people are immature
Make a gofundme account and raise money for a surgery if u really need one, but before that, maybe see a doctor and find out if there are any ways without surgery (that would be better)
go in public
it'll be fine

This story is exactly what is going on with me right now. I also thought that when i leant on my face in class whilst writing was the reason for this. I also have braces and iv started to chew only on my right side now and i hope it'll work like what happened to u. Thanks fpr sharing this

The right side of my face is bigger than the left side. Are you suggesting that I chew with my right side or left?

I believe you because before chewing a lot of gum my jaw muscles were smaller. With my recent invisaline braces, I began to chew on a different side, the right. I took a picture recently with my hair pulled back and I saw that my face was wider on the right. The side that is easier for me to chew on and sleep on. Now I make a effort to chew on my left, and sleep on my left, and it feels funny. It used to feel funny to chew on the right. I believe many of us have a slight facial symmetric problem but using certain muscles can either make a situation better or worse. I suggest doing more on the side of the face that is underdeveloped. I want to thank you so much for your post.

I have the same problem. Exact problem. My cheeks are different sized and it's highly noticeable in photos. My right cheek is bigger. And after reading this post i realized rhat i have been chewing on my right side for like 3 years now. Im a 20 year old girl. If i chew on my left side will i get a symmetrical face again? Will my left cheek become bigger? How old were you when you started to chew on the other side? And did it go back to being asymmetrical?

How old were you at the time that you decided to chew on the other side?

Hi avenger 9000,
My problem is 100% similar to yours, thought I was reading my own story.
It's been a year you posted, any changes or improvements? Or solution you found.

Do you also chew from only one end of mouth, as that could be another reason for one swollen side.

Everyone with lopsided features, please google plagiocelphaley. It's usually the skull causing it. Typically uneven ears, one side of face larger than the other. Uneven forehead or eyes. There's only one doctor I know who fixes it with specialised implants etc. Dr Barry Eppley. I'm in Australia and am saving up to go see him.

Does this really work? I've been chewing on my left side for a long time and only recently i have found out that my chin is asymmetrical.
