I'm 34 year old male and just the other day I was on camping in the forest with my family and friends.
All day we were in nature and we eat some barbeque whole day.
I must have eaten something bad because the week later I felt chronic headache with nausea and vomiting. I even started to feel some vision changes.
I don’t know what could cause this but I'm guessing it was something in pork meat because only I eat pork meat, every one else eat chicken’s.
What should be my next move?
You are right, it is food poisoning and it was probably from the pork meat you have eaten. You have probably digested larval form of the pork tapeworm.
It can be very dangerous because it can affect your central nervous system.
Cysticercosis is a systemic illness caused by dissemination of the larval form of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium. It is causing cysts all over your body.
The occurrence of the encysted larvae in the brain, spinal cord, meninges and eyes is known as neuro-cysticercosis. This can be vary dangerous because it can cause strokes. It may be necessary to obtain an imaging study prior to lumbar puncture to exclude intracranial mass effect.
Cysts may also occur in the muscles. There are two drugs used for successful treatment- praziquantel and albendazole!
