Hi, good morning, I ran across this doing a search on this recent phenomenon, high frequency ringing in my ears that is keeping me up at night and a sense of pressure or numbness in the upper part of my headd...and the ringing wakes me up at night which is (really awful) because I am used to sleeping like I'm dead so to speak.

help? (thanks so much)

I too have an dizziness, tinitus, pressure in head-I thought I'd lose my mind. I went to an ENT and was scheduled to have sinus/nasal surgery. But I thought, are they going to cut out my dizziness? So I opted not to have the surgery. Long story short....TMJ....I was diagnosed with TMJ back in Jan of 2000. Yes very pricey and insurance doensn't cover it. But I had no quality of life. I sleep with a splint for teeth griding and clenching which I had no idea that I did that in my sleep. TMJ can cause so many symptoms, from your jaw to your lower back, into your neck.....lots. Find a TMJ specialist OR you can order a generic one online.

Hi I have experienced the same problems over the past year. Its like pressure on my head, cant concentrate, dont feel all there, and my eyes are all disturbed. I have had a CT scan, eye exam, been to the doctors 15times, the neurologist and so on. Nothing is helping and they say they can't figure it out. I was sent for a blood test givin pills for vertigo, sinus infections, anti-depressents. I don't know what to do it's driving me insane. It went on straight for about 5months then went away for 6months and is back again. I was in a car accident that I always think is causing it, but all I need to know is how to get rid of this horrible feeling.

I don't wish these headaches this pressure, this feeling on anyone but Im so so glad I found this site and that there are others like me..... I was beginning to feel like I was going to loose my mind. Trying to explain to someone you have headaches every day and to have to describe the feelings, the pressure in the face, the pressue in your ears and trying to pop your ears all the time, the lack of concentration, zoning out literally.

I think Ive had one headache free day in the last two months......It is physically and mentally wearing me down......I have had the CT scan the eye exam, been to the ear nose and throat specialist...chiropractor...sleep apnea testing, was going to try accupuncture......i just felt desperate to aleviate myself of this pain.....i have every pain relieve medication there is...tylenol, head on, exceedrin tension, advil migrane, advil cold & sinus(this seems to work for me sometimes). When i went to the ear nose and throat specialist he thought that it was migranes as well. But I couldn't believe that a migrane would last this long and make me feel this bad....

Does anyone know what the cause of migranes are, is there any common link between migrane sufferers diet, smells, carpet dust, alergies. It just doesn't seem normal or acceptable to just be told you have migranes and have to deal with this daily.....I'd like to know why?

hi, there are various different management and treatment options available for migraine sufferers, ranging from diet testing to determine whether there is a particular trigger for you, through to medications you can inject at home. Everyone is different and no two migraine sufferers will experience the same response to the same treatment. If as you say the specialists have diagnosed migraine then you should be referred on to a specialist in this field that can assess and try to determine a cause, and then move on to a management plan for you. If this hasn't happened then contact your doctor and ask for this to be arranged. hope this helps

Hi
My sinusitus problem started over 2 years ago when I got what I thought was a toothache. The dentist did some work on the pained tooth but the pain did not go away. The pain then moved to other teeth on the other side of my mouth. The only painkillers that worked for me were aulin. The pain was so severe that I could not sleep at night. After seeing two id**t consultants that reccommended surgery I decided to go down the alternative route and looked at my diet. I cut out alot of dairy products. This worked for at least a year but recently my diet slipped. I got a cold and then took a flight (which probably aggrivated it) and now am back at square one. The pain is so severe that I would take anything to alleviate it. Please can anyone help

Hi, I'ma 21yr old female. For the last year know i have had marjor headaches, pressure in my head to the point i get dizzy. I went and saw my family doctor, she did a physical, gave me a CT and everything checked out ok! I then went to my dentist and said i should get my wisdom teeth pulled since they seemed to be an issue and he told me that would probley do the trick. That did not work, so the next step my doctor told me was to see my eye doctor, He prescribed me with glasses, and still I'm having constant dizzyness. When i was younger i did have alot of problems with my sinus but all has seemed to be fine with that, well maby up until this point! Please give me some advise on what to do i cant function right!

hi i'm only 16 and i've been so stressed out about these symptoms, much similar to yours but i rarely get headaches.. it's more just severe pressure on the right side of my head near my eye. I also get blurry vision and i feel really out of it.. especially at night time. I've been diagnosed with a panic disorder, which has been almost out of control (i've been on klonopin and got taken off due to addiction) but i don't think the pressure is related to it. I've been bugging out over this and i just want to know why i feel this way. I have a really hard time going to sleep at night, i'll fall asleep for like five minutes and jump up for no reason and even sometimes i'll wake up in the morning and remember waking up to flashing lights/severe panic. Nights are worse but i feel the pressure throughout the day, sometimes it goes away and i feel great. does anyone know what's wrong??

Hello everybody

I like this forum! Everyone cares :-)

Anyways...

I'm 20 years old...live in Canada....have pressure heaches ALL THE TIME!!! but....they stopped about a month ago....and now they're back :-(

When my head hurts....it like to roll my head side to side...kind of releiving the pressure from one side at a time.
My doctor said it MIGHT be high blood pressure in my head. Makes no sense to me....but I took the pills he gave me....verapamil....that lowered my blood pressure. I don't even have high blood pressure! So that didn't help my headaches.

BUT

I felt and heard a "pop" in the back of my head....scary stuff!!! So I freaked out...at work!....and left to emerg...

A doctor there explained something to me that I think could help EVERYONE who posted here.

There's muscles that go from your shoulder blades...up your neck...up your head...under your skull. These muscles can cause HUGE pressure sensations in your head. So if you massage your shoulders/neck....that can relieve some pressure from your head.

ummm....also....not trying to freak anyone out....but try checking out intracranial hypertension!!!

my question...my doctor won't give me a CT scan or mri...he just wants to "try this try that" he thinks im a hypochondriac....a worry wart :-(

How do you get a mri or ct scan?

I am tired of wondering what it could be and i have just learned to basically live with it!! If anyone has felt this way and may have been treated for it please let me know!!!

Thank you all for your postings. I have been experiencing these same symptoms for a while now. My mother also had many of these symptoms and was diagnosed with ocular migraines. She was spending a lot of time on the computer and her optometrist fit her with prism glasses specifically for the computer. They were expensive (a little over $300 US), but she has not had anymore migraines. I've been spending more time on the computer lately, so perhaps that is why I've been having these more frequently. I'm calling my doc tomorrow and also making an appointment to get my eyes checked. Again, thanks to all.

Hi There,

%-) I've been experiencing this head pressure as well. Usually the pressure is in my face, around the eyes, in my temples, and what feels like behind my nose, sometimes even in my throat, and on the rear and rear top section of my head. Along with the pressure, I get dizzy spells, burning eyes, sick to my stomach, and occasionally a ringing in my ears. I have a history of anxiety and Panic, and this throws me into nervouse fits at times. I had a ct scan done, neck up all normal, not even a sinus issue. They told me then it was stress and stuck me on ativan. I just want to know what to look for so i can get the doctors to find out whats up, and get this cleared up!!

Thanks for your time.

Hello. Any new developments on this subject? How is everyone doing? I have been having these problems as well, only fairly constant (daily)... so I don't think it's migraine. Any ideas?

Those of you who have described symptoms of headache, vision problems, especially swollen optic nerves, ringing in the ears, etc., with normal CT and MRI scans,

especially if you are female, overweight and between the ages of 15 and 50, you must consider the diagnosis of pseudotumor cerebri also described as idiopathic intracranial hypertension. This condition can cause all of these symptoms and must be treated or blindness and other bad things can result.
