I am going though sort of the same thing. I was recently in a car accident and ever since then I have had extreme pressure in my head, almost to the point where it feels like my eyes are going to pop out. I have also had at least 3-4 seizures. I have had x-rays, an MRI, an EEG and they have all came back normal. This is extremely frustrating to me. It would give me great relief to know what is going on.

I just went to a doctor about this. My head pain is on the sides of my head only but also on my neck.
The doctor told me that it's because I subconciously clamp my jaw (due to stress most likely). He suggested I buy a football mouth guard to wear when I'm sleeping to prevent this from happening. And just try to stop clamping down!
Also if you suffer from dizziness, possibly accompanied by ear ringing, darting eyes [have someone else check]...
then try to stand up with your feet shoulder width apart, close your eyes and hold out your arms like you're flying. If you sway, there may be a viral infection on in your ear. It's not too big of a deal, happens quite frequently. It'll go away on its own in about 1-3 months. You could go to the doctor and get some medicine to speed up the process though.
It's called labyrinthitis.

hello. My name is melissa and I have been suffering from a chronic headache for 3.5yrs. It began on August 14,2005. I am 34 and have 2 kids. I have never suffered from migraines & do not think I have migraines now. I did not suffer any form of trauma, I just woke up and this constant ear pressure has been with me ever since. The only time I get any relief is when I am asleep. But as soon as I am awake, I feel the constant pressure in my head, inner ear. Here is the order of doctors I have seen:
Family Physician (gave me allegra, nothing changed)
ENT (gave me steroids)
Neurologist (put me on ELAVIL, able to function but still not myself)
2nd opinion Neurologist (supported what the first had said, tension headache)
Family Physician ordered a spinal tap to rule out meningitis
Neurosurgeon (just saw my MRI's, said it was normal)
Chiropractor 11/05 (saw him about once a wk for 2 months- gave up)
TMJ DDS 1/06 (made me a custom splint, no changes & cost me about $1200)
Accupuncturist (saw her once a week for about 2months, gave up on that)
2nd ENT 10/06 referral, all o.k. but said my septum was deviated. i said just fix it then. BRUTAL recovery. Unfortunately, nothing changed.
7/07 Maxiofacial surgeon in Guadalajara Mexico suggest braces should take care of it. I wore braces in college for about 18months. Decided to wait until seeing the pain specialist to consider that.
7/07 Referred to the Pain Center at Cedars Sinai. Went wkly, then once a month. Placed on Effexor. No changes. Dr.Graff-Radford is a dentist/pain specilist and was adamant braces will not help.
Continue seeing him for about a yr.
7/08 Went back to guadalajara and saw the orthodontist who was recommended by the facial surgeon. He says if he gives me braces, I will just be throwing my money away and says he will research a doctor he knows about in San Francisco, Ca. He emails me the name and info but I haven't scheduled the appt. I have been disappointed so many times.
7/08 After visiting the orthodontist, I return to the office of the maxiofacial surgeon and the first thing he says is I need braces. I told him I had just returned from his friend's office and he said braces would not help. He is convinced that they will and I don't know what to do. In the mean time, I have him make me a new splint which they made for me at the cost of $200 for SAME day delivery. Saved me a few wks and about $1000.
I think this is about all the info I can give. In the beginning, I was extremely sensitive to light and sounds and had a lot of trouble concentrating and just wanted to be in bed. With my medication, I am able to function but I am not the same person. I don't take my kids to the park as much and try to avoid being around lots of people, the noise just gets to me. The simplest things seem to overwhelm me. At times I get pain around my eyes and I am constantly trying to pop my neck but nothing changes.
If you have a similar story, please let me know. i have not seen an allergist because my doctor insists it won't show anything. Have had numerous MRIs, a CT scan & I don't know what else.
Thanks for reading :)

Most of you are suffering from frequent anxiety problems, you feel a typical bodily sensation or even a floater in your eye and you begin to excecerbate it until your muscles begin to ache in that area...there is only one way to see if this is the case.
Go distract yourself until you stop thinking about it-regardless of what you do, play soccer, watch porn, go out to a movie-if you're monitoring it than it won't help-but if you distract yourself and think back to the situation and notice that your pressure left once you distacted yourself, its anxiety...GO RUN, GO DO SOMETHING, STOP TAKING PILLS!

Hi, my name is Alex and I am an 18 year old female. I can't even tell you how relieved I am to find people who are suffering the same symptoms as I am. I have been feeling a moderate to severe pressure on the right side of my head for at least 5 years now. My left ear also seems constantly 'popped', and it also feels like it's behind my left eye. I've had a CT scan, and it came out negative. I'm so scared, and I'm convinced I'm going to die. This pressure is here with me every day, and the doctors don't know what's wrong. I'm scared it's a tumor, or that there is something wrong with my brain. It's such an abnormal feeling, and everyone I try to talk to about it doesn't seem to understand my symptoms. I just want it to go away!

I was so glad to find this website. I read every single entry last night and was amazed to find I am not alone. My symptoms just recently started about a month ago and have already been driving me nuts. I have missed 4 days of work already. My symptoms were such pressure on both sides of my head, feeling like it was coming from the center of my head pushing out, ready to explode. The pressure was in my ears, cheeks, jaw, top and sides of my head. I felt "out of it" I just felt weird - like floating. I felt dizzy as though I could pass out. I couldn't concentrate or keep my focus. My heart has also been palpitating. My co-workers are just confused - as am I. There was also a high pitched ringing in both ears. I've been to the doctor 4 times already so far. At first we thought it was sinus. Went through one antibiotic, then steroids and now currently am taking Augmentation plus a nasal spray. It just doesn't feel like sinuses though. I've had many sinus infections and this is different. I had a sinus scan - normal. I went to a ear, nose and throat specialist - the one that has me on Augmenting - he really doesn't think it is sinuses either but to make sure, he is treating it as such. He said the next step would be a neurologist because it could be migraines. I thought he must be crazy because I always thought that migraines were unbelievably intense headaches. But as I was reading through on these comments, and some suggested migrane symptoms, I thought maybe the doctor was on to something. So last night, I took 2 Exedrin Migraine tablets. Within 2 hours, the pressure was almost totally gone. My focus returned. My head didn't hardly hurt and the ringing was gone. Today, I took 2 more when the symptoms were just beginning to return. Same thing, feeling better but my heart is still doing that flip-flop thing, as I call it. I am so glad that I have found some relieve so far. I hope this continues to help. I just really didn't know how I was going to function at work.
