i have an extended labia & dark labia lips...im planning to circumcised them...should i? will it be better?
Im 14 years old and i dont know what it is but im guessing its a large labia. Its on the left side and im in need of help!
omg im 17 n a virgin and was reading this and jus felt the biggest relief my labia is like a pinky to purplish colour and one of themhangs lower than the other and i was like having a heart attack cos i thort i was weird.

This is so helpful because one of these posts is exactly what my problem is. My left labia is larger and darker in color compared to the right one. I feel uncomfortable about this and I don't want guys to think its gross. I was so scared to tell anyone about it because I thought I had a disease. I feel so much better now to know that it's normal.
Hi girls. I am 21 years old, not sexually active and in the same boat. I have noticed since I was about 14 or 15 that my right labia was significantly larger than my left which is tucked in. The larger, more stretched labia doesnt bother me or irritate me. Its just more embarrassing than anything else :$. Im afraid to have my boyfriend look at me down there or let alone touch me. To this day I have never let any of my boyfriends look at me down there but touching has occured and nobody seems to mind the feel of my larger labia. With this said, I really feel that maybe it doesnt matter how large your labia is or how discolored it is. When it comes down to it, a man is not interested in what it looks like. Some superficial men may be. Just find yourselves a man who will accept you for who and how you are. No questions asked.
By the way I am very glad I came along this posting. I too thought that I was disfigured and such until I found this. This post gives me more self confidence, knowing that it is common amongst women. The women who have "perfect" labias are either blessed and born that way or have had genital cosmetic surgery on their labia. The truth is, we are strong women who need to be comfortable in our skin and accept our body that we were born with. ;-)

This is perfectly normal, and a sign of a maturing body.
In the same way that on a guy, one side hangs lower, so that things are not crushed together.
Often, the larger side allows for better stimulation, and feels better to stroke and play with.
A bit of pain, from time to time, when things get folded wrong, or caught in clothing happens to both sexes.
(Imagine how it feels for a guy to have a ball drop down below his underwear, and he can't adjust things, ouch)
If there is frequent or constant pain, or you are concerned, please do not be afraid to see a gyno. It's your body, and you should be proud to enjoy it, first, and always.

From looking at photos' online and researching everything I can and a very thorough self examination with mirrors...I don't agree that it is prolapsed. im 17 and i have the same exact problem. my vagina lips are too long and bcause of it i never even kissed a guy. it really does bring me down because at this age, we are supose to be living our life to the fullest. Tis is the age where we can act stupid and foolish but we cant. im just wondering how do we tell our family about our problem and/or that we want to get a surgery done?
i have the same exact problem. I am 17 years old about to be 18 years old and i have not had sex nor have i even kissed a guy because of having oversized vagina lips. I feel so ugly because of it and not only that. I am so uncomfortable when i wear pants because when i walk it squeezes and pinches it i always try to wear lose pants but its not my style since im very fashionable and i dont wanna lower my fashion statements just becuz of this problem i really wanna do someone about it but my main question is how do i bring it up to my family that i want to get surgery and how to i get scheduled for surgery? thanks so much.
Honestly ladies, you have nothing to worry about. As a man who has been sexually active for many years and seen more labias than a midwife, I can count on one hand the number that have been equal in size on the left and right. Youl ladies are the norm, not the exception to it.
i hav same prob,,but talked about this to my mom,,she said its normal in puberty n in old age it will shrink,,,but still m self conscious about this
what about discoloration of labia majora??
is there any way to prevent it or make it look like before ??
is shaving/having no pubic hair could be the cause of it???

My right labius has darkened and extended, and the left side, is as it was my whole life. my right labius is not tucked in by the outer labius, so it kind of hangs out.
And it actually does hurt sometimes. But only on somedays it hangs past the outter labius and i feel uncomfortable, because if i have my legs too close together or crossed then it's squeezed, and even sometimes simply by my underwear or pad slighty rubbing on it. So i'm uncomfortably in pain on random days because of it.
Is there anyway to bring it back to it's original size? Why does this happen anyways?
