My denist found a shadow on my xray beneatha decayed molar that was removed. I was refered to UCSF to see a oral surgeon who made a manual exam of my jaw but there was nothing proturding, sore or anything else so he wants to see me again in 3 months to see if there are any changes in the shadow. I also had an CT that showed something pushing against the jaw bone. Since it is a hardship for me to travel to San Fransisco, could my local oral surgeon take the x-ray to see if there are any changes?
Hello there,
Since your condition is very sensitive I would say that the best you can do is to travel to the San Francisco and get this over with. If it is something (but hopefully it isn’t) serious it is better for you to be in a big city where you can even ask for second medical opinion.
Although that shadow on a x-ray can be just a shadow which represents nothing it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Anyway I hope that you will resolve your problem without any treatment but if you want you can be double sure and even check with your local surgeon and than go to the San Francisco to confirm the results.
