I have the same pain everyone seems to be describing as "pressure just under the right rib cage". I'm a 25 year old male and recently had my gallbladder removed as a possible culprit. Pain came back. My dad has gluten sensitivity, but when we question the doctor about this, he said gluten allergies/sensitivity issues would cause pain all across the abdomen, not just RUQ (biopsy from stomach/intestine lining showed negative for gluten sensitivity). I drink about 2 cups of coffee every day at work, never on weekends. I too have had CT, sonogram, MRI, HIDA scan, and still no conclusion.
I was shocked to hear so many people have this same issue and almost everyone is having a terribly frustrating time finding a diagnosis.
I've only had this pain for 2 years, but from the sounds of it, I will have it for another 50 if not taken care of.
Has anyone ever had exploratory laporoscopic surgery?

I've been fighting this for 6 years! Thousands of hours on the internet, every test known to man and finally found something different. I'm going to see a surgeon (or two) I believe this is a hernia, a diaphramitic type of hernia. It can be congenital, that somewtimes doesn't show up until later in life. genetic ( I believed my mother died from this, or acquired (as during a gall bladder removal). Anyway, something to look into. I will try to get back to this page if anything pans out.

Try testing for a diaphramitic hernia, it can affect the liver. You seem to have all the symptoms. Does it pain you when you eat or have to go to the bathroom? Or at least a hernia in that area. I've been reading a lot about it and have an appt with a surgeon next week. BTW, I noticed no one ever replies that they found the problem....

I have the same issue for 2 years. just stopped drinking coffee and tea (I was a huge coffee and tea drinker - up to 5 cups of each by midday and very very strong). Pain has gone within a few days. I had all the same checks as most here on the post - liver, gall bladder, kidneys, ultrasounds, bloods, all fine. It started out of the blue so I did not associate it with coffee and tea.

What about those of us w/o uterus or gallbladder? I refuse to have another endoscopy or colonoscopy since I read a published paper that there is no way to sanitize these delicate scopes, and this causes millions to get sicker following these exams. My GI was shocked at the report. To properly sanitize would destroy the scopes, etc.
