Been on Forsteo for 6 weeks, have gained 5lbs all around my middle. I still walk daily and my appetite has not changed, also my hair is thinning, but I will continue with this medication as I have too much to loose if I stop.

I have been on Forteo for the last 4 months . I have always had a pretty flat stomach and it is now definitely pooched out. I have been on a strict diet for the last month, no carbs at all, and haven’t dropped a pound. I’m with you.

Well that explains it. I as well have alway been thin not more than 125 and now I have gained weight just like the rest in the belly and thighs as well as my breasts. I am very frustrated going on my 4th month of taking it. I believe I will stop and see if there is anything else I can take. Thank you all.

I have been on Foreto for 18 months and have unexplained weight gain in my belly area. I've been a fitness instructor for 25 years and I understand the relationship between metabolism, muscle mass, exercise, age and caloric intake. Absolutely nothing explains my weight gain except the forteo. I have continued to adjust my diet to try to address the gain so I have only gained 8 lbs. but nothing I do can get any of it off and the longer I'm on it, the more I'm gaining. It is very discouraging and I'm hopeful I can get some weight off when I stop the treatment. Doctors and drug companies don't like to hear this information but it definitely needs to be listed as a side effect.

I started taking TYMLOS 2 months ago and have found I am experiencing unwanted belly fat also. I thought I was going crazy because nothing I do reduces the weight or the increased fat. I have gone from 140 to 152 in two months and like everyone else I am careful about what I eat and I walk on an average of 6 miles a day and have for years. I am going to address this with my doctor on my upcoming visit. I have had two back surgeries because of broken bones and this was recommended to help strengthen bones. I have found no such claims about this drug but it is the cheaper one they recommend instead of Forteo.

I no longer get on the scale after only 6 months of Forteo. I have jumped two pants sizes in that time and can no longer stand it. No matter how little I eat or how much I exercise the weight gain only increases. Prior to beginning Forteo my doctor told me I was I was in the highest % for back or hip fracture but there has GOT to be a better way. I know I have gained at least 40 lbs. and that is unacceptable as well as unhealthy.

Yes I have an extreme amount of belly fat and a lot of muscle spasms. Wondered if this was caused by the Forteo and was going to ask my Dr. next time I saw her.

I'm very concerned about the weight gain since starting forteo gaining around 20lbs in 5 months I exercise everyday and .I have 2 protein shakes a day and 1 meal still I'm gaining weight they feel that it's better to take the forteo to heal the bones, but won't tell your about the side affects like weight gain. Myself it's also increasing my pain and muscle spasms does anyone else.have this problem. Maybe there should be an class action lawsuits against the company.

I started Forteo almost three months ago & when I started I weighed 110 pounds. I now weigh 117 & even exercise more & eat better. I’m 67 & have never been this heavy. Not sure I want to continue with this drug.

not sure if you will see this post but if Lilly or our doctors told us this weight gain is a reality nobody would want to use it. even tho i have alot of bone loss and a fracture another problem might be on the horizon with weight gain. its adding insult to injury.
