I'm glad I didn't read this before having the banding done!! I wouldn't have done it. Ive suffered from butt berries for years, I've had 4 Hemorrhoidectomy's in the past and said I'd never do it again!! And I'm not! I heard about the banding and thought I should give it a try. The procedure was a bit invasive the most uncomfortable part was sucking hemmi into the applicator.. Felt like a slight pinch. Then the band was pushed on.. Again slight pinch. I left feeling the same as when I walked in. It's only been two days and so far no issues of any kind. I've got go back in two weeks 2 more that need banding. Hope this works!!

I don't understand all the pain complaints here. I had two banded the first time and 2 more banded three weeks later. I didn't have any pain as such. But I did feel uncomfortable with a constant feeling that I had to have a BM. It felt like the middle of a colonoscopy prep. lol It's now been about 6 weeks since my last banding and no more hemmies, but I have some itching and a little burning after each BM. Always seems a bit irritated down there.

I am getting better I think, still have some pain an uncomfortable after I have a BM. I go every morning, so some mornings better than others. have some bleeding once in a while still. sometime feels like something blocking the way at first , could be swollen still, not sure. went back to my doctor after a month, thought he would look at it and make sure everything was ok, hell no , he said you don't feel better in 2 months come back and see me, 2 MONTHS !!so I said what I wont get better for 2 more months , that would be 3 total, are you kidding..he said no you should be better in week or 2 . I hate this guy, I had no pain ever before he did this..no compassion or bed side manner. All theyre wrried about is getting you in and out.. 3 minutes total..$165 what a joke..hope your doing ok..someday hope to be back to normal..

Hi All,

Many thanks for the useful advice, been having bleeding every few months which apperantly caused by hemmroids but no pain or discomfort.

Done colonoscopy followed by 3 banded hemroids on Tuesday. Today is Saturday and travelling tomorrow. First couple of days is understood, my big issue is when I go to toilet I can't go, it's uncomfortable and with no results most of the time. The one time a day it works only tiny bits comes out in comparison to the food intake. I had fresh blood once and doctor prescribed Macrogols, taking that ansoul Anusol but not much luck, any advice or things done to handle similar situations are appreciated? Sam-UK

I had 3 internal bands yesterday. Passing no problem pain is not so bad. But Could someone explain or tell me if they have this issue. And it's discomfort feeling that your constipated but really aren't. Its the most annoying uncomfortable thing iv experienced. Is this normal and how long does it last for as it's kept me on toilet all night without a sleep?

I sincerely hate the fact that the doctors and brouchures minimize this whole experience by saying "you're only going to feel a "little pressure" after.. What horseshit. I did 3/3 recently and again like every other time the discomfort is unbearable!!

I'd recommend that you rest as much possible on the day of the procedure right after.. And the second day as well. Sitz baths help also. Active charcoal pills also seems to help with BMs. They really need to consider giving pain meds after this procedure but that perhaps causes constipation .. good luck guys!!

Had 4 banded 4-1/2 days ago and I'm still in pain. I replied because like you I also have an uncomfortable constipated feeling most of the time. It has gotten better over the last 4 days but I still have it. My daily BMs are painful and not satisfying. Since you are farther out, I'm hoping you reply with an update.

I had 4 internal haemorrhoids banded 2 days ago. I thought I was just getting one done, but as I was put to sleep, I had no idea what was going on. I was in agony today with a intense urge to poo, but it is way too swollen and blocked up by haemorrhoids to be able to pass anything. My pain level is beyond a 10/10. I have some advice for anyone considering this procedure. The very first thing I suggest is emptying your colon 1-2 days before with the help of laxatives because the less poop in there beforehand means you won't have as much stuck inside after the procedure. Secondly, keep taking the pain relief for 3 or so days after. I stopped last night because I couldn't feel any pain.. but when trying to poo, my God, the pain was excruciating. So keep taking your pain relief!! Thirdly, don't let them band anymore than 2-3 hemmys at a time.. the more you get banded, the more swelling and blockages, which only prevents you from pooping. My best advice for relieving the pain is to take a few laxatives and lay down flat. Gravity is the enemy while you're feeling pain/unable to poo. Just lay down and take the pressure off your that area and wait for the laxatives to start working. There is no point straining ane enhancing that pain if your poo is too hard to push. Lastly, don't be hard on yourself. Don't talk negatively and don't assume that you should feel better than what you do. You just had surgery on a very sensitive part of your body! You need time to heal, to please allow yourself that time!

OMSTARS you got me rolling and it hurts to laugh. Just had my third banding, scared to death I'm going to have to have surgery because they have only improved about 10%. Thanks for making me laugh.
