Ok so I had 2 banded myself Thursday at 10..00 am . The first one he banded was the big one . After he banded it I felt zero pain . He put two bands on it . Then he found a small one that he said he would do now instead of come back for second banding . . After one band on that sucker I felt pain and a lot of it . I should have done one at a time . I highly recommend to do only one at a time no questions . You need to listen to me on this . Take it from a man who was hit by a snowplow at the age of 7 and at 10 hit by a car on a minibike and totaled two race cars and survived cancer back in 2009 . Do not rush this . If you have 3 or 4 do one a a time only .even if it takes two months . Do the worst first and save the smallest for last .
Had 1 band done today. No instructions for home care no Rx. Gonna try things suggested here. Eating soup only!!! I gained couple pounds on purpose so I could just drink soup.
I had my done on friday just gone. I donno how many bands but i was given general anesthetic. There is not much pain but no bm. I want to go but cant. Any ideas.

I think I've read this thread about 20 times since August when I started feeling the familiar pain of internal hemorrhoids again.
I had 3 bandings 3 years ago and while it was hell healing, I felt pretty good for about 3 years.
So it turned out I had one inflamed hemorrhoid (major stress--had diarrhea for weeks) and I got it banded 9 days ago.
The feeling of pressure and the little zings of pain (worst after a bowel movement!) are driving me crazy. I'm depressed. I can handle pain, but after 3 months of it, I'm getting discouraged.
I also start second guessing if my surgeon got it right. Then I get stressed and then I have diarrhea again.
This is awful.
I don't know why they say you'll have no pain. That's really wrong and I think it makes most of us wonder what the heck is happening with us. If doctors were honest about what banding is really like, I know I wouldn't be stressing

Hi there. I got one banding done on Tuesday, alsmost 48 hours ago. The entire procedure was painful and afterwards but Wednesday mid-day I began to feel much better and today, nothing but a dull ache. There was little blood in my stool this morning. My concern is the internal hemorrhoid banded is still occassionaly prolapsingz. I guess I expected it to go away immediately or at least stop showing its ugly head. At what point does this go down/away? Has anyone else had the banding and the hemorrhoid continued to prolapse? How long? Please?
Hi. I totally agree with you. I am second guessing my surgeon also asbits been less than 48 hours since my banding and my internal hemorrhoid is still swollen, hurting and bulging. Maybe he missed it I don’t know. I will say it was a very painful experience but I started feeling better mid day yesterday and except for the roid itself, much better today. I hope you are feeling better by now b

I ended up calling my doctor on monday and asking for pain killers but they said just to keep at it with regular Advil or Tylenol. I was not pleased and told them so. It has been 3 weeks since I had my banding and the girl I talked to said they once had one older gentleman patient who had pain for 6 weeks! And so it stood to reason I should give it a little while longer.
Yes. That's exactly like they advertise it--painless and back to work right away.

Anyway. Yesterday was better and today seems okay too. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not scared of these things coming back someday. The pain I've been through has been horrible.

Had 3 hemorrhoids banded today and the pain is unbearable. No matter what position I'm in there is no relief for the pain called the doctor and told them what was going on and they just told me to take some Tylenol and hang in there. Wish I never gone through with it.
I hope you find relief soon. My doctor will only band one at the time because this very reason. I had my first band 2 weeks ago but the roid is still there. Doc either got the wrong one (have more than1 just went to take care of the one that’s bothering me) or it just plain didn’t work. Getting a re-do Friday. It took the first band 12 days to fall off. The pain was surprising but did ease after about 4 hours and by the next day I was in very very little pain. I went to work. I hope your paid is much less by tomorrow. I will tell you, a warm salt bath helped me a lot right after. I’m dreading Friday but hope doc gets it this time.
So it has been 5+ weeks since I had one hemorrhoid banded. Today is the first day in MONTHS where only 1 over the counter pain reliever has taken away the annoying rectal pressure feeling.

I've had 2 hemorrhoidectomies and a few bandings. I guess you can call me a pro at 35. You better get banded - it's no way to live your life. I'm hoping after my current banding I can be free - at least for a while.
Lushbomb.......are the bandingS working for you? I have one hemorrhoid , prolapses every morning, and have had 2 bandings and zero improvements. My doc says it takes 3 but I’m afraid it isn’t working because there has been no improvement at all. And it feels really hard. I have an appointment tomorrow with a different doc just because I feel like my current doc thinks my issue is insignificant. I cannot get answers and he just keeps saying it takes 3 bandings of 3 columns. I just don’t understand how that could possibly work after 2 has not.
