I just had my first banding. My Dr. does one at a time, every two weeks. Aside from feeling some pressure for about an hour, I've had no pain whatsoever. I think those who are having pain probably had a few bands done in one visit at the same time. I'd rather go every couple of weeks and take it slow... My experience wasn't painful at all.

This was so helpful. I'm on day 2 post banding and just had my first BM. I wish I had read this before and prepared with the high fiber before my procedure. Literally the leg shaking, worst experience of my life.

Oh well lucky you. Had mine done yesterday and the pain is horrendous.

Not rare at all....I had 1 banded yesterday and to be perfectly honest, I would rather squat in a potato field and give unassisted birth to a 40 pound baby than EVER go through this again. FYI, I am a woman who went through two bunionectomies wide awake. Bone saws and all...

Agree the pain is horrendous, but lessons after a few hours, until you have a bowel movement. Ouch!

I got one hem banded three weeks ago today and i still have soreness and swelling in the banded area. I think one more week should do it. if i get to five weeks without being able to workout again, I'm going to loss my mind hahah.

I have been banded three times, one hem at a time, over the past two/three years. I recommend y'all get banded regardless of what people are posting here. These stories are exceptions... the 5% or so who have complications. the first banding i had was the worst and took 4 weeks with unbearable pain. My second banding healed in less then 2 weeks without any pain whatsoever. This third banding is takin more time, but the hem is dead and gone. 2-4 weeks of pain and discomfort is worth it. F*ck hemorrhoids. I say kill em all! life is not worth living when managing such symptoms brought on by hemorrhoids!

Update... I had a bloody BM yesterday and called my dr. He told me most that the blood was an indication of the banded hem finally falling off after 22 days! FYI it can take up to 4 weeks for these suckers to fall off.

Each banding is a different experience. this third band took 20 more days than my second band. Patience is essential. Pain and discomfort will pass in due time. TRUST THE PROCESS. Now I'm waiting for the wound to scar over. still inflammation, but less pressure and dissipating soreness. Ill repost when i feel 100% again.

My advice is to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. and buy a Sitz bath!

Just got home after having had this done and immediately panicked as I desperately needed to pee but I couldn't. Was super paranoid that I wouldn't be able and that I'd need to go to hospital.Luckily after 45mins or so I managed to pee which was a huge relief.

The pain is much much much more intense than I thought it would be. It feels like I have an extremely large unmanageable penis up my bum that is going to be camped there for weeks without a permit. It's not good, I just want to sleep but I can't as I'm scared I'll c**p myself from the stool softners I've had to ensure the constipation from earlier this week isn't going to irritate the bands.

I also broke my ribs a few weeks ago and until today was using Tramadol and Codeine for the pain. The surgeon told me I was not allowed to take them now I've had the procedure due to the side affects of constipation, this was NOT welcomed news. Paracetamol and Ibprofen don't do sh*t for broken ribs. So what's irritating me as I have these strong ass pain killers staring at me from across the room and I KNOW they'd make my ass and ribs feel loads better but I can't take them.

In this moment, right now I am saying to myself "never do this again". Although, I imagine in a few days I'll feel differently.

I agree, my doctor offered nothing for the pain and no after care instructions. He said "most my patients have nothing to really talk about after this procedure". So I pray for the best tomorrow for round 2. No idea how many he is doing or where they are located, he gives me no information.

Never Again. I feel nauseated and aside from the rectal pain I feel like a horse kicked me in the crotch. I can barely walk or sit and it's been 12 hours. I was supposed to get 2 more done but they can forget it. Told me to take Tylenol and that it would only feel like I had to have a bowel movement ...wrong

I’m with you on that. I had a hysterectomy 6 months ago and had no pain compared to getting these hemorrhoids banded. This is the worst pain I’ve felt, I don’t think I can do it again. It’s so bad
