I am 17 years old and soccer practices just started up. Two days in a row i have been getting dizzy and sitting out untill it passes. Today we had a 3 hour practice ending with a few sprints. after that we went up into the weight room to lift. I did bench then after my first set of box jumps i started to get dizzy. I got a drink of water and went back to do another set. Thats when i stopped and went to sit down. My head and neck was sweating, my head was hot but under my eyes on my cheeks it was cold and it took me +10 minutes to catch my breath. I sat out for about 25 minutes and did a set of pull ups. thats when i quit because i didnt want to push it too far and pass out. i have had a history of passing out a total of 5 times. once was at school after P.E. in 5th grade thats when i went to the hospital and did a bunch of test but they didnt find anything wrong with me.
Hi Kyle,
You need more than a little water. You are likely very dehydrated. When your get dehydrated your fluid volume gets low, your blood pressure drops, and you get dizzy.
It could also be a cardiac event. Yes, even at 17 you can have heart problems.
I strongly suggest you see your doctor and tell him what is happening. I'd love to check your blood pressure when this was happening, I bet it is low.
See your doctor, please.
You need to keep hydrated with Gatorade and water lots of fluid. ESP with soccer lots of running. But overall u need to c the doctor because it could be something serious. Please see the doctor!!!!!! To b in the SAF E SIDE!
Hi, yes i too have been experiencing similar problems, i would get so weak after my training that i literally drag my feet home. I asked a doctor about it and she told me i was feeling like that because i would waste my sugar supplies throughout training and then my body looses energy. She has given me advice to eat exactly 2 hours before each training and i have been doing that ever since. I had no problems anymore. You could be having the same problem, you should try and eat 2 hours before training. Also, i would not rule out medic-dan's suggestion that it could be a heart condition so get that checked out just to be sure.
