I have had two ocular migraines within two days...which has never happened to me before. The only thing different is my use of Flonase, so I googled migraines/flonase and this feed came up. Wow! I've had some nosebleeds after use of Flonase and my husband has had some sores come up on his throat after use of Flonase. I guess we will be stopping use of Flonase...which stinks bc my allergies are horrendous right now.

Yes! I actually ended up in the ER due to my reaction with flonase and the migraine that came after. The doctors said it was probably started from the flonase because I never have migraines but just started flonase

OMG...who knew? I found this thread after researching the terrible migraine i have...and the only thing I took today was Flonase. I found I had allergies a few years ago and started on FLonase which worked like a charm..(I used to get headaches due to sinus pressure and flonase worked like a charm). I felt stuffy this morning and decided to take Flonase to relieve it and WHAM!!!...debilitating headache all day. I will say this only started with the over the counter Flonase...I wonder if that's the difference...but it's DEFINITELY the flonase.

I used flonase for a few months. I started getting headaches really bad. I havent used it for 2 years and I still get the violent head aches several times a week. Mostly when I try to sleep. I'm thinking about contacting a lawyer

Don't think we are allowed to post links here, but if you do a Google search you can find a medical study that links corticosteroid nasal sprays to migraine. Unfortunately, it's not limited to Flonase, they found this problem with six different ones. I wasn't aware there were that many. I suffer from what I term sinus migraines on a nearly constant basis. Tried Flonase thinking it might help, and I got horrible ocular migraines with pain running all the way down to my shoulder. I've never had a migraine to cause pain to radiate beyond my head before. Each time I used Flonase, and within 30 minutes the migraine would start. This time I took a hot shower as soon as my migraine began, and it seemed to bring it from excruciating to painful but I can still function. It's ridiculous that migraine suffers aren't warned about these medications, since there is clearly a link between them.

It makes me have a even worse migraine to the point I have to go to emergency room for shot.

I've been using Flonase for a few weeks now and my allergies are totally gone. But every night I get a splitting headache. I've never had headaches and the days I don't use Flonase I don't get them. There must be a connection for me.

I have had migraines for about 25 years, but only about 4 a year. I started using Flonase a couple of months ago and had a migraine. I thought they might have been related, so I stopped the Flonase. I tried Flonase again last week and a day later had one of the worse migraines ever, with vomiting and nausea and a horrible right eye headache that lasted for about 8 hours. I use Imitrex for the migraine and took two pills, two hours apart. For the first time, that didn't help at all. It may be coincidence, but I won't ever use Flonase again.

I too get migraines every time I use this med. so I don't think it's as rare as they say

If you have 4 migraines a year by definition you do not suffer from migraines.

I started using Flonase a week ago, but unlike getting migraines, I feel like I have had relief from mine. I have suffered from migraines for 7yrs now and I take Sumatriptans for them anywhere from 2-3xs a week, with 3 a week being the max dose your suppose to take. It’s a given for me that when I’m on my menstrual cycle I will definitely have a migraine before, during, after, or during the entire process. I’m so excited because this week, on my cycle, I actually made it with no migraine symptoms at all! My doctor prescribed this for me when I got hit with Vertigo last week for the fluid in my ear. I just wanted to post this to see if there was anybody that had similar results?

I, too, suffer severe migraines ONLY when using FLONASE. Really stinks! Either i sneeze my butt off all day or i have a migraine which is just as frustrating

I do suffer from migraines. But about a week after Flonase I started getting horrible ones, they take only seconds to come on now, and occur almost every day whereas before they took hours to start and I had them 6 or 7 times a month. They now happen whenever I go to the gym to exercise or whenever I worry about something and they are 3 times as painful as they were before, even Ibuprophen no longer helps to lessen the symptoms, and I end up throwing up. Before the migraines weren't localized as much but now I have them in the right frontal lobe area. Yesterday it was so painful, I couldn't help having thoughts about suicide, and it dawned on me that rather than an aneurysm or something even worse, it could simply be Flonase, so I went online and discovered a small pilot study of this - which didn't come up with any definitive evidence due to small N, yet its results warranted further investigation because of a statistically significant relationship between corticosteroid sprays and worsening migraine. I also discovered a very high number of anecdotal reports of this occurring, which doesn't happen with other side unusual side effects from this medication. Therefore I decided to stop using Flonase in hopes that these newer migraines with vengeance subside. If they do I will post once again to confirm.
