For example....does marijuana smoke age the skin in the same way that tobacco smoke does? Are the negative effects the same at all?

Thank you!

marijuana does not effect your skin. it does, though, damage your lungs, brain, teeth/gums and may cause acne/blemishes. i think the whole acne situation is just a rumor. weed has a worse effect on your lungs then tobacco, but isn't as deadly. it effects the brain by giving it not only a high, but a calmer state of mind long term if you smoke out of a bong. the thc stays in your brain and you become permanently 'burnt out'. smoking at a young age, too, will effect the brain because it's not fully developed till the age of 23. just like any substance you smoke, it does cause oral damage. it may cause serious gum disease & plaque on your teeth. there are many positive and negative effects of cannabis. in ways, it is healthier then tobacco. it also makes you happier and relaxed depending on your age group. i'm only 14 and have been toking for a good while now. as you can see, marijuana does not make you stupid like many people think.

For sure the increase in acne is a myth. For the past month I have been smokin close to nearly everyday, I haven't had a single zit the past two weeks. I'm not saying it decreases it only that it does not cause any increase.

Smoking tobacco causes skin problems because of the nicotine. So you are safe. You may get stronger wrinkles around your mouth later on due to the repeated muscle movement involved in the act. Also it wouldn't be a good idea to constantly do something like hot boxing if you are concerned, because your skin can't breathe and residue is left behind from the smoke. Hope this helps despite so much time passing. :-)

I never really smoked throughout high school, but started smoking every day the past year, and my acne has never been this severe. I consulted with my dermatologist and she mentioned THC can cause acne, it just depends on your skin personally.
