I am fan of exercising but never manage to find extra time to keep on going with it so I am curious does stretching also maximizes our strength? And would it be enough for me to do some stretching during the day just to keep in good physical shape and to stay in good condition?

The stretching is just a part of exercise you relax first than you exercise or do your regular work out and the final part is stretching. Stretching is about relaxing the muscles after exercising and it is not like stretching maximizes our strength though you can stretch yourself in the morning right after waking up that is what I do but if you want good physical shape and fine muscle form and strength than I am afraid stretching wouldn’t be enough. Try to fine these at least 3 or 4 extra hours per week for exercising and don’t forget that stretching is the must as the final part of any exercise for it is stretching that helps your muscles keep cool gradually after work out and it prevent some possible muscle inflammation.

Stretching actually does increase strength. Stretching improves the elastic quality of the muscles as well as lengthen them over time. Longer muscle contract more fully and with greater leverage. When inverse muscle are more flexible they alow their counter part to contract fully and with less resistance (tricpes/biceps - hams/quads). Finally stretching improves your range of motion and circulation both have an indirect and direct effect on power output respectively. Stretching, done correctly, is highly under rated.
