Look why did you stop the folic acid. If it was helping you continue that. I myself am trying to get my hands on folic acid. I could only find methyl folate. In small dosages. Methyl folate Is an active form. Try it if it helps but active forms of vitamins have bad side effects as per reading online and per my experience. Active forms of vitamins are present in food in food vitamins are not alone alone present but also things that are need to complete them are. So that's my understanding on the matter. I had terrible side effects with methulb12 shot as I mentioned them in earlier post. Of you want to start Methyl folate start from a small dosage. I'm no doctor or health experts. But I try my best to understand the problem and give best solutions possible.

M has probably 80 percent for a long time cause the food in European countries or western countries use etc have foods fortified with folic acid. He should try Methyl folate to improve the situation more if possible. #j

I don't think you should give more blood man. Cause to make New blood cells the. Body needs b12 iron and folic acid or folate. You may already be deficient in one of them. But it's your choice. I have given blood on various times but not in a large amount. Last time you have blood you had heat flashes. And that I know for sure is a b12 deficiency sign. But I may be wrong because the lack of scientific proof but my personal opinion wasnverybstrong about it. No heat flashes at least after the shot.stay on the folic acid or folate. #J

Firstly I'd like to thank Dr.Artem for the post although having the mthfr gene mutation can give you side effects it is my personal opinion that this is not what's causing our situation. If it was you'd have side effects from every type of protein, whether it be chicken, eggs, tuna, steak, etc etc. When I was a teenager I took twinlab gainers fuel, Casilan 90 which is a different form of milk protein from whey and other brands of casein protein and I took creatine monohydrate with zero side effects, so if it was the mthfr gene I would have got side effects way before I ever took whey protein. Before I took whey protein I was in perfect health. Although I haven't got the test to see if I have the gene mutation I don't believe I have for the reasons I explained. Our problem is specifically whey protein and once you've taken it in large amounts your body remembers it and kicks off at any little amount such as ship cruise guy with the Parmesan wings etc etc. People have reported improvements using vitamin b and if so keep it up. At the moment I'm getting side effects from methylfolate, for a good few hours after taking one I feel wiped and slightly out of it, I have read online that methylfolate can have bad side effects and if you're taking it start on a small dose and build it up, I started on 1000ug when there was smaller pills in 400ug size, I may switch to folic acid as there's only need for methylfolate if you have the mthfr gene. I still believe our problem could be an immune system response and there are hundreds of ways your immune system can affect your health. We'll see how we do on vitamins for a while and take it from there, hope everyone is well, M

I think you should ask the doctor about that. #J

And hey man how is your milk and cheese and ice cream adventures going to they set you off ?#J

M your theory is totally valid. But I'm sure this time I didn't take anything with milk or whey. Was just fasting and in the middle of the day I got the set back. I hope it's the folic acid thing and not the immune system response because that's on a totall different and dangerous level. Will have to try the 3 days fasting thing then. #J

And hey m bro what's your status. Last we talked you were at a good 85-90 percent. What's wrong now ? #J

Hi J, the last year and a half or so I'm hovering at 80%, sometimes slightly better and sometimes worse, it depends on how I eat too, the cleaner I eat the better and certain foods will set me back a bit but only for a day or so but not killed totally like as if I ate whey. This is also why I believe it's immune system but it can be helped if it is. Our problem starts off in the stomach, that's why when you fasted you got a set back, sorry about that, but try drinking at least 3 pints of water throughout the day, I think it helps a bit. I remember one time I ate a spicy sauce with my dinner, there was no whey in it, within about 5 minutes I could feel my bits down below start to feel numb and tingly so there is the begining? The stomach? But it only lasted a day, if it was whey I'd have been in trouble depending on the amount I took, if it was a very small amount you'd recover in a few days but take that bit too much and it's a long set back...
Have you noticed any improvement at all even a bit since fasting??

And while you say it's cause of the large consumption of whey protein. How come you didn't have a reaction to it in the first two tubs. If the immune system was allergic to something to it. It would have fired in the first time. Not after 2 years as in your case. And the immune system gets immune to a certain thing after contjnous exposure like same in the case with meds or drugs that don't affect it anymore with same dosage. While in my case I didn't even take much whey protein. Half scoops at first mostly then maybe a few times full scoop. My 5lb box isn't even half empty. I just consumed probably only 1/4 of the whey protein box. Is it possible to have such a reactionbcause of it. #J
