Have just found out why my lips have been swollen, very dry and painful, and blisters inside my mouth - Colgate toothpaste - it was my dentist that spotted it and asked if I use Colgate, very common and lots of people wont use it no.  She recommended Sensodyne extra fresh and so far so good, much improved in  a couple of days.  Worth a try.
