Hey guys, I´ve a very positive development and a good news to share on my health post the cortisone injection (just for information, I asked my GP about its name and was told that it was Tramadol (a pain-reliever) plus Betamethasone (the cortisone), and I thought it to be my duty to share it with you all too for the future references and for anyone who experiences the same as us all and ends up Googling these pages. As it as anyway, of what use is his suffering who doesn´t feel others´ suffering? So my recovery makes it my obligation to update you all.

I posted my above post on the 21st and by the 23rd I´d recovered completely from it. You see, the Steroid shoots up our BP and blood sugar, also greatly raises our energy levels. once it leaves our system, it becomes an issue of getting used back to our normal being (the BP, blood sugar etc.) and of energy and metabolism - the latter two being the basic selling points of a synthroid. There are a very minority of reports and findings that suggest that Steroids lower our Thyroid levels post therapy, and in some cases it may not even be detectable in a blood test.

Anyway, so I was here feeling so sick and depressed that I was ready to play safe and try anything that might stand a chance of causing a speedy recovery for me. What I did was, I upped my Thyroid medicine to a double and also doubled the dose of the Vitamin D supplement that I already take in my daily routine. I recovered within two days and from then on have continued to feel absolutely normal!

So that´s how I recovered from the horrible after-effects of that Steroid shot. I´m not a professional health-carer, neither will my method work for all, but sharing the details of my recovery is the best that I can do sitting here. A Thyroid medicine is not prescription free of course, so those who don´t suffer from hypothyroidism and hence aren´t on its medicine will find it hard to test out what I did as a Thyroid patient.

A good day to you all and wish you all a very speedy recovery from this or any health issue that anyone might be suffering from, God forbid.

You may want to look into Turmeric it is natural and has a lot of beneficial qualities. It's the only thing that has helped my knee. The cortisone only helped for one day.

A good suggestion, this. Turmeric is quite famous for its effects in relief from arthritis too, and there are researches that suggest that it aids in relief from joint-pain as well.

YES IT WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR OUR DRS TO REMIND US THIS IS A COMMON SIDE EFFECT. CORT INJECTION MEANS 3 DAYS TILL IT IS OUT OF OUR SYSTEMS. PRAY FOR THE CALMNESS TO RETURN.

Same here! I do not want another shot of this stuff. Horrible emotional side affects.

I also had severe emotional sadness reactions from a recent cortisone shot in my knee. This depressive feeling came over me a few days after the shot. I researched the side effects and found this site. The information is very helpful and unless I'm st deaths Door... I do not plan o getting another shot.
I've been soaking my knees in the sofa daily and using Young Living Essential Oils topically and wrapping ace bandage to help with the swelling. The Essential Oils and creams are very soothing.

I have cortizone injections every month. One in each arm. I just now put it all together that the shots may be giving me mood swings, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst), I'd say I get to 11! To a point where my bf doesnt even "know me".

Try organic tumeric for inflamation, do the research, must have oil, (coconut) and black pepper to be most effective. Good luck

Yes, I had a shot in my knee two days ago, and I'm out of my mind with rage over political and environmental issues. I hate everyone from my childhood,... Fortunately I live alone and can sign off Facebook...but I don't. I'm overwhelmed by hatred.

Thank you all for posting! It's not just me then. Two days after my first shot I felt like a raging monster. I wanted to stab my lovely husband of 30 years for some minor irritation. I felt so out of control I look myself off for a couple of days until I felt safe. When I asked my surgeon if this was a reaction he laughed at me and said the dose was too low to cause roid rage. I'm due another higher dose shot in a couple of weeks but am having second thoughts. I think I'd rather be in pain than harm someone else.

Guys, Vitamin D is incredibly helpful in recovering from the after-effects of a cortisone injection. It worked for me really well and I was well again within four-five days. TRY IT AT LEAST!

Since we´re at it, I consider this my responsibility to warn you all against another incredibly harmful and dangerous medicines (even its eye drops. ANY FORM to be precise!): an antibiotic by the name of Ciprofloxacin, and all other medicines of the same class. To be precise, any medicine of the class of Fluoroquinolone and Quinolone.
