A advise to you all. A capsule got stuck in my chest and then came to throat. This caused a little disturbance in my chest and throat. Later I was about to go to ENT which would have caused me to spend some 500-1000$. But before that day's night I tried turmeric and salt with water. I heated the mixture and took it and the next morning everything is gone and then I don't have to go to a doctor.
Also happens to me when taking Prozac capsules every time. Dr. Switched me to smaller capsules but still same problem. Feels like it gets stuck in the middle of my chest. Sometimes helps to push down by eating food after taking it.
Hello guys... I have same problem.... yesterday I accidentally took three big round supplement medicines... because I thought I would be able to swallow it... but it got stuck terribly due to big size... and later I have have discomfort and terrible vomiting.... and then I felt that pill is stuck and I drank a lot of hot water so that pill could dissolve , but all to no avail ... but after hours I realized its not pilll stuck but lesion due to pill in inside the throat.... to calm I drank tea with milk...by mixing turmeric and honey..... it does indeed soothe the throat... now after 18 hours from this incident... my condition is getting better as I can swallow my own saliva with little discomfort as before... :) Thanks God.
This may help.
1. Put water in mouth.
2.Lay down flat.
3. Swallow.
4. Repeat until gone.
Your esophagus really has to work hard to get the water down without gravity, thereby pushing the pill down with it.

Drink hot coffee helped me
As soon as it happens jump up & down with all your might, wack your chest a few times. It will help dislodge the pills. 2 creatine monohydrate tabs got stuck for me
I read somewhere on this thread that someone drank coffee and the warmth melted the pill. Same thing happened to me today, chest pains for about 30 mins, but as soon as I drank hot tea it started to go away. Pains went away completely 10 minutes later. Just wanted to share for anyone else having the problem - warm/hot liquids seem to help.
Oh my god! I'm in the same situation where I feel like something is stuck in my lower throat between my collar bone! Turns out I'm also taking doxycycline hyclate for an ear infection that I had recently. There is obviously a pattern here, that doxycycline causes a side effect in most consumers that may be irritable/painful in the throat! That's my guess because most of the people on this thread have only been talking about how they were taking it and the mysterious pain started!
I'm having the same problem with the same medication. when you swallow does it feel like your swallowing a sharp chip?
i alsp am takin doxy and have had this same experience and am right now. my chest hurts so bad its only the third day if school i cant b feeling like this! i used to feel like this every time i took it til i took it at night and was fine but last night i felt it get stuck and thought it would solve itself on its own overnight, i was mistaken.
I am up at 1:05 in the morning - same feeling. It is awful - but I am on Clindamycin HCL...
I had been taking doxycycline twice daily since August 30th. Then on September 9th I got home late from a movie and went to bed. After getting in bed I realized I hadn't taken my pill so I hopped up and took the pill with no water and went back to bed. Like everyone else here I woke up a couple hours later with the feeling. Pill was stuck in my throat. I drank water and are something but nothing worked. I sat on my couch that night for a couple hours and found this thread. I read every comment and realized I was taking the same pill(for acne). I was in horrible pain in my throat And chest. I too wondered if this was what a heart attack felt like. I wanted to go to the dr but saw most others had pointless experiences there. I have toughed it out for 11 days now and I think I will be back to 100% this week. It was pretty bad the first week and then manageable this second week. I was able to drink water/tea with no problem. Ice cream and milkshakes were perfect! I stopped taking the pill but plan on taking it again because it really did help my skin. I have learned my lesson about taking it at night before going to bed though. I hope the best for everyone in this situation because it is horrible but temporary. I didn't leave the house the first 2 days and ate/drank very little. I will inform my dermatologist of the side effects and hope he will warn future patients.
Continuation...the pain did spread to my back probably around day 8 or 9. Felt like aches you get when you are actually sick. Thankfully that side effect didn't last all 11+ days
It's a rare possibility that all of our symptoms are reflecting an allergic reaction.......?????
