It is very unlikely you are (or will be) pregnant from that incident.
If your 'period' came on time, then you would not have been fertile the day before the period started. However you don't give much by way of detail.
- When did your previous period start?
- How long is your cycle (typically 28 days)
- Have you had sex since 7th Jan?
- What other sexual activity have you been engaged in? (Oral sex, mutual masturbation, etc)?
- What were the circumstances of your encounter on 7th Jan?
- Where are you from?
- How old are you?
However, if you don't want to get pregnant, you need to use contraception with whenever having sexual intercourse.
I hope this helps as a start

Your period is different all the time, perfectly normal. Sometimes its heavy and red, sometimes you almost forget you have it at all because its so light, sometimes its a week late, sometimes early, etc. It's different all the time, don't panic about it.

But if you normally have a regular period, but then have unprotected sex at a fertile time, a late or minor period could be a first indication of pregnancy. Some people's periods are not "different all the time". You need to know what is normal for you, and understand your own cycle.
