Hi im 17, about to turn 18 soon and my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time for the both of us.
I do use tampons and I am athletic, so I was not surprised when I did not bleed from his insertion. 
But oh, the pain!!! the first time i couldn't stand it for more than a few seconds. so after a bit, he tried again, but it still hurt so so so much.
The initial sharp pain went away after a while, but the pain was unbearable. I couldn't go on for more than half a minute or so each time, and continuously had to tell him to stop before we started again. I do feel bad that I kept stopping him and he didn't even get to cum, but I couldn't stand the pain for so long. He did tell me that I was really tight. He said it still felt good, but I only felt pain. I was wet, so that wasn't the problem..
My hands and feet even went numb, and after looking that up I see that those symptoms show up when 'sex is good' but.. for me it just hurt a lot.
Are we doing something wrong?

Sounds almost exactly like my first time!!! It's never great the first time and don't worry that he didnt come.....it was the first time!!!!!

Next time take it easy - do lots of fore play to get "ready" - buy some lube if you can (if using condoms- you cant use vaseline as it can make the latex deteriorate). Most of the time it is just that you need to be "wet" enough (sorry hate that word, haha).

Relax and just enjoy it - it takes practice to make it good - just try to stop worrying about him and the things that aren't going to plan and just RELAX!

If you still have problems after many times trying regardless of lube, being relaxed, etc it could be worth seeing a doctor to rule out any problems down there. Some people can get a condition which means vaginal pain - usually during sex or touch down there for an unknown cause. But I really wouldnt go worrying about that so soon - everyone i know had a painful first time - its normal, dont worry! x
