I am had the lateral sphincterotomy done two months ago. After surgery the pain is minimal, I didn't even require any pain medications. However, the pain only subsided for a few weeks. The pain has returned, not so bad like before.

Hi all, I need some help please:

June 2012 I had a fissure surgery.  The after pain was so painful.  It is now August 25th 2012 and i am still having problems below.  I wake up in the morning and have to go to teh bathroom.  I go and then my anal area starts to hurt and throb.  I have been to the Doc about the issue and he gave me some cream with Lidocain.  It works but not well.  i usually have to take pain meds but sometimes makes the stool harder.  After about 15 minutes fromteh first bowel movement i have to go again, i know cause i get pain and my rear starts sweating.  WHAT can i do to stop the pain.  I think there is something else going on Doc says i have to be pain free fro one month before he will refer me to get a colonoscopy.  I am at the point where this is destroying my life.  I'm 32 and shouldn't have to live life like this.

I had an anal fissure surgery on Tueday the 16th. I felt so good right after the surgery. I took a pain killer for  couple days but I stopped taking it because of the side effects. I did not experience any pain because of the surgery except felt little sore. Also little bit of burning pain  after the bow movement which longs only for 5 minutes. It used to be all day and so severe before the surgery. I am so happy and glad that I had the surgery.

Hi, I'm a 40 year old male.  I suffered with a fissure (unknown to me) for more than 2 decades.  I was diagnosed while i was in the field. I'm a Marine and a Corpsman diagnosed me.  He was no doctor so he diagnosed me with hemorrhoids.  I went on for 22 years.  I finally went to have it checked out when the pain of a bm became unbearable.  I had the surgery done and I was feeling like a bag of money 2 days later.  Although there was and still is a little pain involved (I'm recovering still.  It's been 9 days), it's nothing at all compared to the pain of a bm while suffering with the fissure.  I would suggest getting it done.  Beats the hell out of the pain in the ass that I've had for the past 2 decades!!! Oooh Rah!!!

Hello to all Anal fissure frndz, I had undergone AF surgery 3 days back. The first nite after surgery was Hell. Doctors inserted 2 packs in my canal. I had sensation of motion at 2 am. suffered a lot of pain. requested doctors to remove the packs from the canal. It resulted into a lot of bleeding. But felt much better after removing the packs.doctors gave me painkillers n injections so I cud sleep for the nite. feeling better from 2nd day. I had passed motions since then. A little pain along with a bit of bleeding is still there. However, I had warm tub sitting today morning. It gives gr8 relief. Was scared of sitting in warm tub initially. However, relief was there. Hopeful to get away with anal pains in next 7-8 days. Wish you all better life after surgery. Pls do go for surgery. Dont get carried away with any other options.

After  a few months of thinking that I had hemorrhoids after seeing the specialist yesterday.  He tells me that I what I have its a Fissure and its infected inside.  So I am schedule to have surgery this Monday.  I am scared a bit but I am more scared of the pain from having another BM the pain is so intense that sitting in hot water helps but its a horrible sharp shooting pain.  I feel nausea from it and all -its a horrible experience.    I can only hope that the surgery will correct this and that after a few days it will be much better.   If you have a shooting pain - don't let it go make sure you go get checked - thank god I did cause I would have never know that it was infected.   Any recommendations or suggestion are welcome.

Thanks

I had the surgery 6 days ago...and although I am still feeling a little bit of pain here and there..it is NO where close to the pain I had before. I still know it has been done sitting but it is not sending me into orbit....sometimes a night it can hurt trying to lay in bed.....I made 20 high powered pain pills last afterwards....even though I could have taken more of a dose than what was said I could take.....I spoke to the dr. and told him I still feel it...esp. if I keep having multi bm in a row from the fiber and stool soft. meds...and asked him for something weaker for the pain when needed.....I recommend it if you need it...as I said...what pain I do have right now.....is 80% less than what i ever had before it...and I'm only six days out.
