I was told no creams, sprays or wipes. No heating or cooling packs. Only meds they give you and get in tub water as hot as you can stand it.

I'm now on day 8 post op. First few days was a little tuff. Felt like fissure is back. Each day the glass feeling got better. However around day 4 it was replaced with an off sore muscle feeling. With a BM felt like I was pushing through a black and blue muscle. After the BM would have to lay down for about 20 minutes until the pain went away. That's getting slowly better. Now, I have leakage. Mostly just the standard pink drainage, but sometimes fecal matter. I've heard that most incontinence is temporary, but when I see this, it sends me into a panic thinking that I'll always have incontinence...... Like many, I think I'm looking for reassurance. Does this all sound like a typical recovery? How long do I need to deal with leakage and incontinence. ?

Hi I had LIS surgery two days ago and I am already feeling relief. Had a BM this morning with no pain. I totally expected to be in more pain but has been easy compared to the fissure. Surgery is always scary but find a good surgeon and get it done. You will be happy when it's over.
