Sometime ago I was found gallstones, so I learned a little bit about cholesterol polyps as well. Do you suffer from any discomfort? Do you experience pain after meals? I know that cholesterol polyps usually show symptoms just like that. However, some cholesterol polyps aren’t symptomatic at all and they don’t require therapy.

Has your doctor ordered follow-ups? If you don’t have any problems, you still need to have ultrasounds every 6 months to check if they are not increasing.

Cholesterol polyps are not cancerous and they form when excessive amounts of cholesterol levels or inadequate quantities of bile salts are laid down in the lining of the gall bladder. A person may have cholesterol gallstones as well. Polyps are growths that protrude from the lining of the gallbladder to the inner cavity.

If they become troublesome, you may need to have your gallbladder removed.

When was the last time you had an ultrasound? What did it show then?
