I had a gallbladder attack that landed me into the emergency room. I had a ct scan and ultrasound which showed one 3cm gallstone and another almost 2cm and a couple small ones in the bile duct. 6 weeks later I had my gallbladder laproscopically removed and the surgeon said they were gone. She only had some stones that looked like grains of sand to show for the operation. I'd like to hear from anyone who has had this happen. I didn't think they were suppose to disappear on their own in a 6 week time.
My wife went to the emergency room for the same issue. They did an ultrasound and cat scan. They said she had a gallstone. Two to three weeks later, went to a gastroenterologist, urologist and surgeon. Follow up mri and another cat scan and they said that they don’t see any gallstone. Unsure what to do next.

Hello, guest.

It is not uncommon for different medical professionals to have different opinions or interpretations of imaging studies such as ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRI scans. In some cases, the imaging results may be inconclusive or difficult to interpret, leading to confusion or uncertainty about the diagnosis.

If your wife is still experiencing symptoms that are concerning or affecting her quality of life, it may be worth seeking a second opinion from another specialist. A second opinion can provide additional insight and help determine the best course of action for managing her condition.

In addition, it may be helpful to review the medical records and imaging studies with the healthcare providers who have already evaluated your wife's condition to ensure that all the relevant information has been considered and to address any discrepancies or inconsistencies in the diagnosis.
