Hi, I have been going to the gym for almost six years. But that was 4 years ago. I still have the muscle mass but now I have some fat over it. I want to get back to workouts. I am wondering, after all this time should I get back to my basic exercises and weights or can I start at more advanced level because of my prior experience?
It would be wise to start with some basic exercises and weights at least first two or three weeks, just to see where are you now. Because of long pause you should do a lot of stretching and warming up before you get back to full tempo. Try to gradually increase weights and to do exercises which you have been doing before the break. Do some cardio to remove fat and to improve condition.
