I've been in perimenopause for quite awhile. Up until this year my periods have been pretty regular. But about 6 months ago my periods were coming every 2 weeks, that lasted about 3 months. Then I went at least 8 weeks with no period at all. I had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago and got a period the next day. It lasted 4 or 5 days. Is there any chance I could be pregnant. I'm 51.
Hi Palady,
There is a chance you can get pregnant, yes. We don't consider menopause until a year of no periods. Throughout that time it is possible that you could conceive.
Use some protection.
Could I have gotten pregnant even if I started my period the next day and it lasted 4 or 5 days?
That wouldn't be likely especially if your period "normal?"
