You may get withdrawal bleeding within the next few days. However, you don't give much information.
- What date did you have sex?
- What date did you take EC?
- What date did your last period start?
- What date did your previous 5 periods start?
- What date was your next period due?
You can only get pregnant when sperm enters your vagina at a fertile time. EC is not 100% guaranteed but is usually effective if taken correctly. EC (like i-pill) can affect the menstrual cycle, but you need to give more specific information.
- What date did you have sex?
- What date did you take i-pill?
- Did you have withdrawal bleeding after i-pill? If so, what was the date?
- What date did your period start before you had sex?
- What were the dates of your subsequent periods?
- What was your normal cycle length (typically 28 days)?
As you took EC pill, your cycle will have been disrupted, and you may not be able to ascertain when your next period is likely to start.
If you have not had sex since Feb 24, then the chances of being pregnant are very low. The hormonal period (withdrawal bleeding) on March 24 is a good indication that you are not pregnant.
I would think you would get a period within the next few days, but that cannot be guaranteed, and if your period doesn't start within a week it does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. However, stressing doesn't help. Nevertheless, if you become over-worried, you could take a test.
I hope this helps
I had unprotected sex on 15th of April, i took ipill an hr later. I had my period on 22nd of april. It lasted for three days only. I hope i am not pregnant.
What is the probability?
That is difficult to say. It would depend on a number of factors. Although it is stated that it will be effective if taken within 72 hours, there seems to be a possible effectiveness up to 5 days. However, there seems to be no empirical evidence. Factors to be considered are the regularity of periods, and when in the cycle sex occurred. EC works to [a] inhibit ovulation, [b] inhibit fertilisation and [c] inhibit implantation. So it could be that it is too late for (a) or (b) but soon enough for (c). But you haven't given much detail. If you want more help:
- What date (and time) did you have sex?
- What date (and time) did you take the i-pill?
- What were the start dates of your last 6 periods (or as many as you know)?
- What date was your next period due (as at the time of sex)?
- How did you calculate that date?
- What do you consider to be your normal cycle length (typically 28 days)?
I had a query regarding this question..
Please find my details.
Period starts 03/04-07/04..
Had sex on 9th april and 14th april.
Took ipill on 17th april..
Mens cycle is 28 days..
Does the ipill work
- "My period date is 17th" I presume by the way it is worded you mean your next period was due 17th May. If that is so and your period really were due 17th May, then 4th May (4.5.17) at 5 pm would probably not have been a fertile time. But how did you calculate that period due start date?
- However, having taken the i-pill today, 6th May (6.5.17 not 6.4.17), then it has a high chance of success, and therefore there would only have been a very low chance of pregnancy anyway.
- You may not 'feel' any kind of side effects (what were you expecting?), and you may have a period in the next week or maybe closer to your expected period.
