Try this Follicleanse you can only get it online but it will bring your hair back, thick. May take a month or two but it works just be patient. I found my new growth falling out with Effexor and quickly stopped taking it. I had problems with my hair before taking effexor but was using follicleanse and the minute I started using effexor my hair started coming out so out the window went effexor lol When I go back Tuesday I will ask my doctor for something else or I will deal with my depression another way, however, not at the sacrifice of my hair. Try it.

I've been going crazy over my hair loss. I've always had very thick and curly hair. My son passed away 2 years ago I was on this for a few months after he passed. Now Ive been back on it for severe depression. My hair started to fall out, then in clumps to the point where it's scary. My hair is so dry it doesn't even curl just frizz... my face is also peeling all I have to do is lightly rub my face.. I may need meds for depression but I can't put up with the side effects!!! It's also making me sad... SMH
I noticed a crazy difference on the right side of my head, it has thinned so much! I had thick hair and was on Effexor for a year, and I can see the right side of my head is thinner. The bathtub wouldn't drain so I had maintenance come and they pulled out so much hair from the drain that it looked like a wig had been shoved down there. I never had this problem until being on that horrible drug. It also caused me to have conscription. I just weaned off of it. I was on 75mg, then went down to 37.5. I have had the worst withdrawals from Effexor than any other medication. I hate Effexor with a passion! I hope my hair comes back!!
I have been taking Venlafaxine ER 37.5 mg for six months and am experiencing quite a significant amount of hair loss. Just had blood work done to see if thyroid related and no indications that is the case. All blood work was good. Pharmacist says hair loss is not a side effect of this drug, but upon reading the messages on this site, I believe it is definitely something that should be examined. I have a thick lovely head of hair until now and am 67. I am extremely upset that this drug is not showing this as even a minor side effect. Research needed!
The complete description of side effects includes alopecia. I have lost most of my beautiful hair on this drug. Do yourself a favor and ask your dr. to wean you off it

I have been on Efexor for over 12 years and have lost a great deal of my hair. My GP said it was just old age (I'm a vital 67 yo not 87!!). I feel stable emotionally on the antidepressant and am terrified to come off it in case I crash. The hair loss adds to my withdrawal as it is socially embarrassing.
