At 8 weeks I was told I had a 10 cm cyst and I was pregnant. By 11 weeks the cyst was almost 13 cm, I had surgery but at 12 weeks and 6 days I lost my baby.

In reply to whether or not you should have another baby before they decide to remove your ovaries, the only thing you really should be worried about are

- Pregnancy this time around, if you successfully carry, will be quite painful. My partner has only 1 smallish cyst on her right ovary, and it causes her EXCRUTIATING pain, she is incapacitated sometimes. And only 9 weeks pregnant (the surgery to remove it, is currently happening).

- Miscarriage. And trust me, miscarriage is about the most horrible thing that can happen, not from pain, or the unpleasantness of semi-birthing a deceased fetus, but the emotional pain of losing a child that way. And the disappointment of now knowing that was (without expensive donor/surrogate programs) your last shot.

It is only my opinion, but you may be setting yourself up for soul crushing agony, sounds harsh, but it just is that horrible.

There is a glimmer of hope, with no surgery done previously, and if both cysts do not put too much pressure on you painwise, your risk of miscarriage should only be a little higher than regular.

And if you can handle pain ok, it might be well worth it.

This is a call only you can make, but don't just think about how great it would be to have another child, also think on how you would feel if that didn't happen, or worse.

I hope I didn't upset you, i really only want to help.

I had the cyst removed (13cm) and even though I lost my baby, my ovaries are ok and I can try to have another baby. A 10cm cyst can cause the tube to twist and an emergency surgery would have to be done. That could risk you and the baby. Fix yourself first, be healthy to have a healthy baby....if another does not come into your future, that is the way it was meant...Do something amazing to help others.

I had this same problem when pregnant  with my youngest daughter. The cyst I had was on my right ovary, about the size of an orange ,the cyst had already twisted by the time surgery took place. I was extremely worried about my baby ..I was 22 weeks pregnant when I went in for the op. The thing I must say is that it took 2 days for me to feel the baby move again and I cried with relief! Luckily the baby and me were fine and it didn't really hit me until after she was born, I think natural survival instinct took over. I had 22 staples across my lower stomach and my hubby called me zippy for a while!  I did ask if the surgery could wait until after the birth but there was no way they could leave it as hormones when you are pregnant make the cyst grow very quick. It was a very scary time as you do not really know what is happening and you have to put faith in the surgeons. I was in hospital for a week after and it was very painful ( sorry but I don't think there is any point telling you otherwise). It is amazing what they can do, but I really sympathise with you. I hope that you and your baby will be fine, just remember when your baby is born that they are a little miracle ..babies are tougher than we think :) good luck xx

I had a cyst, my ovary and tube removed around 22 weeks. It was painful but healed pretty quickly and I am now 38 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl. I was nervous about the surgery but prayed about it and everything worked out fine. Hope this helps.

what ever happened? I am one week pregnant and went in (not knowing I was pregnant) because of pain. They found a 5.2 cm ovarian cyst and were going to take it out (not sure how) but when they found out I was pregnant they said to wait. Did your go away? Did it get bigger?

I am almost 8 weeks pregnant now. I have had problems with ovarian cysts since I was in 9th grade and I am now 27. This is my first child and the cysts made it hard for me to even conceive. I thought I couldn't at all. When I went for my first sonogram, the doctor asked if I was in any pain which I told her no and all she said was wow. When I went in to see my obgyn, he told me I had a 20cm cyst but he never said which side. Again they asked if I had any pain and I haven't since November. My obgyn said they are gonna watch it because of possible twisting but that it was too early in the pregnancy and since it wasn't bothering me right now then I have another scheduled ultrasound in 4 weeks to check on it's progression, if there is no change then he wants to schedule a removal/drainage surgery in my 2nd trimester. He said that's when it is less likely to cause miscarriage. I'm anxious as I have never had any kind of surgery and when I thought I couldn't have kids I think of this baby as my miracle baby..... one I don't wanna lose. It would be devastating for me and my husband as it is a first pregnancy for both of us.

I had the same thing, I was petrified, my daughter is 25 years old, she was delivered naturally with no problem, 3 days late, 8 lbs 13 ounces, the worst part was the fear , I knew no one else that had this. Please enjoy your pregnancy when it's over, you and baby will be fine❤️
