At 25 weeks pregnant, i found out i had an 8cm cycst on my right ovary through so much pain on my right hip going towards my back and leg. I went to ER and was admitted ,the doctor kept me in fluids and pain killers for 2 days since having surgery had a risk of contractions which could have led to premature baby. On my 3rd day at the hospital the pain was gone but mind you sleeping on any side was not an option, it caused a great deal of pain so i slept while sitting, saving my baby was the only priority for me , i didn't care how i slept. After being discharged, right from the hospital i booked an appointment with two other OBGYN to get different opinions, both said the same thing, if the pain is tolerable ( no torsion or rapture of the cyst ) then surgery should be last option.
I went back home that night thinking what would happen if the pain came back and few hours it did, i couldn't tolerate it .. i knew the next step was surgery. My doctor assured me the baby and I will be fine, which made me much calmer.. Surgery was done , my right ovary had to be removed since it was a recurrence cyst, i didn't want to go through another trauma if i wanted to conceive another child. i am three days post surgery now and the baby and i are both fine with mild pain from the abdomen but with the baby kicking, i feel alive again. If anyone going through this, keep praying.. everything will turn out fine for you. God is great

I am 15 and a half week pregnant with my 2nd child and had just discovered the other day that I have an 11×7.4cm cyst in my right ovary. My doctor advised me to wait until the 16th week so we can schedule a surgery for it is much safer for the baby. I wasn't able to ask her he most important questions because I was in shock last time we talked. I'm just worried right now, I really really wanted to have a natural birth after the surgery. It's so soothing to know that it worked for some. And I am so glad I came across this thread, it's giving me more strength.

I'm reading all of these & none of you have mentioned that you have pcos. Told at age 20 , it will be very difficult to get pregnant unless having fertility treatment & having surgeries every 5 yrs due to pcos/ cysts. Removed left ovary & 2 yrs later...pregnant naturally. Paranoid & worried about having cysts & other issues during pregnancy. Can anyone give me feedback about someone having pcos & actually having a healthy child naturally?

Hey Ladies.. had my bilateral ovarian dermoid cyst (12+4 cm) surgery at 15 weeks pregnancy along with cervical cerclage under spinal anaesthesia and got a cut of 5 cm. The wounds have healed and baby is also doing well now. Am 21 weeks right now. Stay positive, medical technology has advanced a lot. Best wishes and prayers to you all.

About 35 yrs ago, i had been taking Clovid a fertility drug. I became pregnant, did not know it. I felt strong pain and symptoms like an ectopic pregnancy. An ovarian cyst had burst, I developed a dangerous infection, very strong antibiotics were flown in from CA. The Dr. was forced to do a “ D&C” to remove the pregnancy. I could have died. Some women have died from it. It was called “ inconclusive” on my medical records.
