Hi. My name is Ren and just got Home today from having a 10 cm cyst removed along with my left ovary. It's the best thing to do because as you are pregnant it's less than 1% chance of losing the baby. I am back home but still in a lot of pain. I had laparoscopic surgery for the removal and I have four small incisions. The surgery took about 3 1/2 hours because of the way in which it had moved so my surgeon took his time because he did not want to interrupt the baby sack or blood flow at all. I wish you all the best and not to worry, just do what you need to do for the baby and yourself.
Good luck

First pregnancy I had 8cm cyst on left ovary never went away. Ultrasound 6 months after showed it had grown to 9cms. No pregnant with second and dating scan at 8.5weeks showed 2 cysts present one on each side measuring 9.2cm each. OB/GYN wants to either do surgery or possibly just drain. When you had surgery was it automatic they took ovary? I'd rather not surgery as I'm home alone with very active toddler. Very worried for baby...I'm now 10weeks

I was 7.5 weeks pregnant with my first child when I was rushed to hospital with severe pains (worse than labour) - it turned out to be a 10cm ovarian cyst which had caused my right ovary & Fallopian tube to twist (torsion). I had surgery immediately and upon waking found that they had no option but to remove my right ovary and FT. My biggest concern was for my baby but I continued on to have a healthy baby. I have recently since got pregnant again quickly after starting to try with just my left ovary.

I wish you & your baby all the very best as I know how difficult this time can be.

I just had a cystecomy done on my right ovary. The cyst was 19cm. It drained 2 Liters. I was 14 weeks and 6 days at the time of surgery. I looked about 5 to 6 months pregnant with the cysts and now after surgery my stomach is completely flat and baby is doing fine. This should be awkward to explain to everyone as to where my baby bump went. The surgery is painful and the fact you are pregnant and can't take certain medications makes it tough. But it is so worth it. My dr used the laparoscopic technique however I just have one small incision at my bikini line. The surgery took 2 hrs and a part of my right ovary was removed. I did not have general anesthesia. I just received a spinal tap and was awake the whole time. The anesthesiologists was hesitant about going completely under due to the risks to the baby. We made it out safe! The baby is doing fine and has a little bit more room. The cyst was a simple fluid filled cyst. The nurse showed me the picture afterwards. It was large! As long as it's done during your second trimester, you should be fine.

Hello, I see this post was a year ago, what was the outcome of your situation. I think I'm in the same boat as you. About 2 yrs ago I was 6weeks pregnant, but had a miscarriage. When I went to urgent care to verify the miscarriage they found a dermoid cyst inside my left ovary. A month later I had it removed, but I have been having pain in that area ever since my surgery. I am now 6weeks pregnant again and my left side is hurting again. I am worried the cyst came back, so I'm wondering how your situation turned out. I have not seen my obgyn yet, but have scheduled to see her in 2 weeks. Feeling worried

Hi, I had surgery 11 days ago at 7 weeks pregnant, due to the size and unknown nature of my cyst I had to have laporatony procedure. to ensure no leakage. It turns out my cyst was fluid filled so nothing seeming sinister. It was drained and removed. I was in excruciating pain with my cyst every few hours for almost two weeks before the decision was made that it had to be removed. Mine was 15cm and sitting right on top of my bladder making me need a wee very frequent. I can't explain that pain that would come on and last between 10-20 minutes. I felt so ill with it. I had an ultrasound 5 days after surgery and to our huge relief heard our little baby's heartbeat. I am recovering now but finding it really slow. I ache and have twinge pains and mild period like pains especially when I need to have bowel movements. I know my body is changing with it being my first pregnancy so I know some twinges and pains may be down to that. I was just hoping some others could elaborate on the recovery afterwards while pregnant. just to be reassured that all of this is normal and it's a slow process. Even just walking around the house a few times a day is zapping my energy. There's not much on the web about symptoms and actual recovery from a laporatony whilst pregnant so I was hoping for some more info.

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby. At 8 weeks on my first scan they discovered a large cyst on my right ovary. 11cm. The next week I was told I would have surgery to remove this once I reached my second trimester. I go for surgery next week, and just want it over with. I have nightmares most nights that I will lose my fertility and my baby, although I have been told the risk to my baby is very low. My doctor said the incision will be very similar to a c section. How did anyone else recover? I have been told 4 weeks off work will be necessary. Would love to hear more stories further down the line after surgery and how babies are doing.
