I have to say, it's comforting to do a Google search and find so many people enduring the same symptoms as i am. I've been plagued by this since early December 2013 (it's now mid January 2014). The main symptoms are head pressure, some dizziness (not like vertigo, more like I'm atop a tall building that is swaying), general weak icky feeling, shaky feeling in my hands at times. I do have a history of getting worried/anxious/depressed and I realize that could be feeding whatever this is, but I know it's not ONLY that. It's frustrating when people dismiss it as just an anxiety thing. Never in my life have I felt this crappy for so long, and with nothing bad going on in my life. Tests always come back normal which is both a relief and frustrating (I want to fix this!!). I have five kids at home from 6 months to 13 years old and I'm a "stay-at-home" Mom and Zumba instructor. I'm used to dancing and running so this has been very upsetting. Sure, I get frazzled and have had my meltdowns but have a very loving and supportive husband, doing well financially, everyone is doing well. There is really no other stress than the chaos of having a big family and being a full time MOM. This came on out of nowhere. I was stressed about usual SAHM stuff and it being the holidays but doesn't seem like that would suddenly cause all this misery. Nothing extremely awful is tormenting my life - my life is actually quite blessed and wonderful.

At first, I was told by a doc it was sinusitis and he gave me antiobiotics. It wasn't doing anything so another doc switched me to a zPac. I tried the netty pot for the first time ever, even the chiro for the first time ever. I drank hot lemon-honey-ginger tea with apple cider vinegar for the first time ever. I'm eating healthy, drinking tons of water. I am 5'3", 116 lbs. I've always been healthy...blood tests are always fine except for some anemia which I take iron for. Yet I feel weak and shaky at times, as if I'm anemic. Blood pressure, always fine. I'm 35 years old. Noticed my eyesight is getting worse and am wearing reading glasses on oaccasion for the first time. The heavy feeling in my head goes along with the discomfort in/behind my eyes...like I can't always fully focus on what's in front of me. Sometimes certain lighting bothers me. But I always figured it's just your basic eyesight going downhill with age, and being a tired mama.  :o) My bro-in-law is an optometrist and he's checked my eyes. They are fine.

Last week I ended up in the ER because I was alone at home nursing my daughter and suddenly had a lot of pressure in my head but this time worse than usual. My scalp got warm and tingly and I felt like I was about to pass out. Then I think my fears kicked in and made it worse. At the ER I finally demanded tests I have always wanted. CT scan - normal, just showed what appeared to be an infection going away. Nothing serious. EKG (heart was racing, felt uncomfortable) - normal. I even had a spinal tap (doc wondered if it was a PsuedoTumor) - nothing. Now I have sciatic pain from the spinal tap - hurrah!! lol  This whole thing is extremely frustrating and debilitating, YES!! I now have anxiety and depression just over the fact that I don't know what the heck is going on, how to fix it, and will I ever feel normal again? Sometimes I feel okay, then suddenly the head pressure/ear plug feeling returns, even the warm tingly feeling on my scalp. What on earth IS that?? I am making an effort to not dwell on the misery and continue to try living life...making the meals, cleaning the home, working out....it's all very difficult now. But I know that getting down or freaking out about it will only make matters worse. So...I'm glad I'm not alone.

I see an ENT next week. Continuing with the chiro. Taking another zPac. Going to look into a naturalpath doc (sp?). Going to try DoTerra essential oils. I am trying things I've never tried because I'm desperate to feel well again. I have five children - I need to be able to do my job! Best wishes to all who are struggling with this. Stay positive, I know it's hard!! One of the worst parts is doctors scratching their heads and saying nothing is obviously wrong and throwing more meds my way. I don't want to live my life on medications when I am seemingly a totally healthy person that just feels crappy.  :o)

My advice to others.....get all kinds of tests done. Rule stuff out. That alone can give you some peace of mind. Try new things, be open to natural ways of healing (I've always thought that was hippy/weird stuff but I am finally trying it!!

Hi- Just curious, since it's been 6 months since your post- whether you have found any relief. I too have had some bouts with the sudden head pressure. I don't know what's causing it at all. I know that after it happens- I get a huge rush of adrenaline which doesn't help anything and makes it all worse. It seems to come on with a headache. Dull- pressure and tension type headache. I've been told its stress and I need to take it easy. But, I feel like you- I don't feel over stressed and anxious- I'm very blessed and am a stay at home mom also, with a very supportive husband and great life. So I can't buy the fact that it's just stress or anxiety. High anxiety does run on my moms side of the family- but I always thought I was one of the strong ones that never was going to have to deal with that issue. I just wish I knew if this was actually physical. I too am trying Doterra oils and would like a more alternative approach than being stuck on medication. Just wondering if you found any answers since you posted this.

I have the same problem as radel for a year now. its so frustrating and hard to do everyday things. does anyone have any answers??? there is feeling of tightness inside my head and also feel it around my eyes. feel like when i move my head in different positions i can feel in my head. i just want to feel normal! its there to some degree 24/7. sometimes i also feel sick while it happens. i have tried prescription migraine meds, muscle relaxers, xanax, antidepressants, vitamins, natural remedies, etc. mri came out ok. all blood work ok. i generally eat healthy and exercise. for some reason hot showers/sauna seem to help it and also laying down helps alot. i had to stop going to the dr. until i get some insurance so if anyone has any thoughts please share! thanks!

The patient is required to lie down during CT scans or MRI. We know that in some or many cases, whatever is causing the pressure tends to disappear and is not recorded when the patient lies down. If this is the case with symptoms dissappearing prior to the scan, how can you conclude that "anything that was serious or life threatening"..."would show up". I'm not saying that the cause is serious or life threatening, but just because you can't use your equipment to detect whatever is causing the symptoms, provides no proof or evidence that the cause of the symptoms is not serious or life threatening. Your conclusion is not valid.

Same. Just started about two months ago and if it happens, it's right after a long deep sleep. Feels like I've been upside down for a while. I think it maybe due to two things. First is sleeping on the left side of the body. Anyone else do this often? I've heard the heart has to work harder on the left. Second is sodium. I generally don't take in high sodium. I'm just wondering if I pay attention to my diet if I can pin it to sodium.

I have had the same sensations for the last 3-4 months, seeing a neurologist in 2 weeks as my GP isn't sure what's happening. I know how you feel, I get grumpy and depressed and mostly just hate not feeling well for so long. Still looking for answers...

Hallelujah that I stumble upon this I have been having the same symptoms probably about six months but very bad for almost 3 months I have had every test done except for a stress test on my heart the only thing that came back abnormal was my EEG That doctor appointment was ended abruptly because when they took my blood pressure it was dangerously low and I was rushed to the ER to bring it up I have had bouts of high blood pressure bouts of low blood pressure and now I have low blood pressure upon standing or high blood pressure upon standing depends on which day it is . I have had a whole weekend of spinning vomiting confusion can't get out of bed headache migraine too scary high blood pressure with chest pain a feeling of not feeling myself or being pulled to the left or dizzy upon walking just not feeling like I am Healthy. I am having most of the same symptoms listed on this thread The neurologist wants me to go on app to him for seizures due to the abnormal EEG but I am not having any seizures and will not take the medicine I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines and did not take the Topamax because of all the side effects and I do not have headaches as bad now so I think I made the right decision I have been diagnosed with Gerd and that came out of nowhere and I'm taking medications for that If my stress test comes back normal I don't know what I'm going to do I'm almost hoping I am heart problems so explains all of this mess It's debilitating and I have been to so many doctors in the ER so many times with no answers

Hi, I recently was diagnosed with something called POTS syndrome. It basically means that when you stand, not enough blood is getting to where it is supposed to go. You can look it and it's symptoms up, although it is a relatively unknown about condition.

Hi,

I have the same symptoms. When I stand up it feels like I'm hanging up side down. Did your medication help?
