Hi what kind of doctor did you call? I have a hemotoma on my left thigh/gluteal. It's been a month and I'm in agony but I'm not sure what type of doctor specializes in this.

I just had a hematoma the same size on my left thigh/hip, I had it start going down at about a month. I rubbed it to get the blood circulating and compressed it with an ace bandage. now to be quite honest the doctor did not tell me to do this, but until I did it was not going down.
the specialist I went to see said I was lucky because stale blood is poisonous. now on the other hand its been three months and I still have a painful bruise, that I am going to have my doctor check out. no bump anymore. but the stale blood thing is the only thing scary, could kill someone from what my doctor said

Find a surgeon that is willing to remove the scar tissue. Seven years after my second back surgery I was in massive pain. Once the scar tissue and arthritis was removed life was great. Scar tissue can cause a lot of pain

Hi, I think that you may have somehow damaged a nerve/s. That is why you might be getting th sharp shooting pain, it's worth taking a look into as this might be the problem. Good luck and all the best.

I am sorry you have gone through this injury. I can empathize with you on this exact injury. I had a had a bad fall several months back and ended up with a huge hematoma on my left hip area. I went to my doctor and he drained the hematoma and told me it will heal on its own in time. I can't sleep on my left side it hurts to bad and I sit with a pillow under that side when sitting, it's embarrassing so i know what you feeling. My prayers are with you for a healing without surgery. Time will heal us and everyone who is experiencing this type of injury. Take care

I know this was long ago but I’m so heart broken that you have had to live almost a decade of your young life with this large hematoma. Go to a plastic surgeon. I also had a hematoma/scar tissue. Mine was left for a little over a year because GP kept saying it will go away. Never did. Insurance WILL pay for this operation by a cosmetic surgeon!!!!!

I'm going thru the same exact thing I was ran over by car on August 23rd and was in a wheelchair for 3 months when I was able too stand in October on the 30th and begin walking again I noticed that i had 2 hematomas. One on my hip where I had my pelvic bar put in from surgery and one one my left thigh which was pretty huge. After months of walking therapy etc me and my surgeon decided to get the thing removed, and did a procedure on February 13th 2018. I have my follow up appointment on March 14th with my surgeon I've been on a woundvac since then. It doesn't look like it helped but I'll see this process has been so long and overwhelming I'm only 22... I just want my regular body back!!!!!
